Song of the Heart
"Naruto!" a pink haired girl shrieked, her friends cringing as she stomped up to their table outside of the mall. Sakura slammed an open letter in front of the terrified blond. "What. Is. This?" she asked, eyes shooting lightening. Naruto looked at the letter, smiling at it. "It's an expectance letter for the Nagareboshi Karaoke Bar karaoke contest." he answered. Sakura slammed her fist onto the top of his head. "Ite, Sakura-chan!" Naruto complained. "And why did I get this?" Sakura growled. She yanked the dizzy blond to his feet and held him up in the air in front of her, lethal hands wrapped around his neck. "Can't… breathe!" Naruto choked, face slowly turning blue.
"Sakura put him down. We all signed you up." Neji sighed. Sakura dropped the blond, staring open-mouthed at Neji. She quickly scanned her letter. "You signed me up for duet?!" she screamed, facing her betraying friends. "Yes, because 1, you have an amazing voice, 2, the prize is $1000, and 3, you need a boyfriend." Tenten explained.
A/N- Nagareboshi is popular. Popular place, big prize. Easy as that.
"What?!" Sakura bellowed, getting an anime vien. "Please calm down, Sakura-san. At least no-one knows who your partner is." Lee said, attempting to calm his crush down. "Nani?" Sakura squeaked, her voice raising two octaves in hysteria. "She's going to have a meltdown." Sasuke predicted. Sakura stared at Lee and everyone else.
"Oh, come on Forehead. You kick butt when you sing. Don't worry, they're letting the girls pick the song." Ino reassured. Everyone stared at Ino. "You just… complimented Sakura." Chouji said, inching away while stuffing his face with chips. "Who are you and what have you done with the real Ino?" Kiba demanded, shaking Ino's shoulders. Everyone laughed, breaking the tension. Even Sakura joined in with them, but only for a few seconds. She sulked in her seat, arms crossed stubbornly over her chest.
"I'll do this, but at a price." Sakura announced, catching everyone's attention. "Name it and we'll do it." Ino promised, getting nervous looks. Sakura grinned evilly and everyone inched away.
"Naruto, you have to go on a date with Hinata. You also have to take her wherever she wants to go." Sakura decided. The shy Hyuuga turned bright red and fainted, right into Naruto's arms.
Everyone looked somewhat relieved, and Sakura smirked. "It's not over yet. Ino, I know you planned most of this, so you also have to sign up for the contest. And you have to sing with Shikamaru." Ino stared at her friend. "What?" Ino shouted, making everyone cringe. "You started it." Sakura said, standing up. She walked back to her bike, hopped on, and sped down the road, pink tresses flying in the wind.
There's the first part. I haven't decided how many chapters it will be, but it'll probably be 3-4 chapters long. Pleaes review if you have any suggestions or ideas or comments!!!
Btw, Nagareboshi means Shooting Star. It's a karaoke bar, and if you sing, it's like being a star. And often people who want to join/form a band need to get their name out there, so they're shooting for popularity. Hence, they are a shooting star!
