The Optimistic Pessimist

Alright, now how truth of the matter was not the fact Luffy was wayward and dangerous in his own right, but merely the fact he often had really no clue that half the things he did often led to consequences that put someone in peril at some day and age.

Needless to say, that someone was most likely, quite usually, one hundred percent of the time, Zoro.

Now what on earth the swordsman had ever done to be on the receiving end he would very much like to know, and if you ever find out, please do tell him, but for now he can only guess. And Zoro guessing, as long as it does not have something to do with direction at all, he was often rather good at, if he did-say-so-himself. It was swordsman instinct in him he supposed.

Zoro had haunches that something would go wrong by the end of the day, because on Merry her good days were what you would normally think would be bad days. Of course, the words 'Merry' and 'normal' did not go in the same sentence, as did 'Luffy' and 'safety'. The two just did not go together, most absolutely not.

He was quite positive of his haunch, and followed it to a T, always on his guard…even if he was asleep most or nearly all of the day, and then somehow managed to sleep like a rock at night. This was all part of his guise.

And none of it fooled Luffy, who proceeded to glomp him and demand play every time he came across his best friend. What really sucked was Luffy sought him out too, so Zoro had no choice when it came to accepting, no matter how hard he tried to humph or brush it off, Luffy did not buy it.

Curse his perceptiveness. Just plain curse it.

Not that Zoro really wanted it go away, far from it, in fact. He enjoyed the fear and terror Luffy brought into his life everyday, because living with Luffy, merely being on the same continent even, one needed to be ready for anything that might go wrong, because in the end it would go wrong.

Did Zoro fail to mention that there is also an alternative ending, that Luffy would always fix the things he messed up, in his own optimistic and creative way? Because, this too, was why Zoro was sure things would go wrong, but they'd be okay.

Please review, there is nothing more annoying when someone sees hits or favorites or alerts to their story…and not a soul have reviewed or even dropped a line!! Saying you hated it is better than not saying nothing at all!!
