42 (Fort-ee-too)
42 is a funny thing.
It happens to cause, due to its all-important reason for existence (to make everything exist), more problems than it cares to solve.
We know this because it solved a problem, but then made another one, and decided to sod off to make a whole bucket-full of problems for an ex-inhabitant of Earth (page 937), Arthur Dent.
Arthur Dent has been greatly affected by the giant pile of canine defecation pooped on him by the very existence of 42 – ie his house being knocked down, his home planet being destroyed, mice fooling him with good tea and then trying to cut his brain out because he contained the solution to the problem that 42 made by solving the problem it was meant to solve.
42 adj: Forty-Two (fort-ee-too) - to be two more than forty.
