First Princess' Daughter: Unusual
Since she was a baby, she was already too beautiful, a beauty surpassing her mother's, the First Princess of the Royal Huang Family titled Princess Long for her feats in war.
Many wondered if her daughter will inherit her genius blood. However, as per tradition, a royal or noble child can only truly begin their social debut at age eight which is also the day they go to Lingyang School to be tested for their physical prowess as those who made it in, can attend Lingyang School at age twelve. They cannot leave home, nor see anyone outside the safety of their homes until then.
However, clans secretly test their children before that public event. The first daughter, Xiao Ling, cannot enter Lingyang School for reasons undisclosed, that only Zhongqi could go in their year.
'Fang, why is it that Ling is lacking?' Master Xiao asked his wife.
'She cannot last long.' said Concubine Fang to her dismay. 'According to doctors when I had her checked at age five when she easily breaks bones during training, she has weak bones and as you know, its impossible for us to afford the Bone-Washing Pill, the only way out for her to have a future in a world like ours.' the family adults choked at the mention of the expensive pill. 'The most I can give her in my power, is Full Body Training, Escape and Survival Skills before making a lady out of her to appeal for marriage as a second option for her. I scrapped the martial arts training I prepared since her birth, to learn certain subjects to be an attractive and competent noble wife in her future.'
'I see...very well, at least you prepared for a contingency so that Ling may still have a future.' Senior Master Xiao approves. Most noble wives aren't martial artists either, as cultivation opportunities went to sons due to how expensive things are. So they practiced in being cultured ladies instead. 'What of the childe, Zhongqi, Qin?'
'Qi'er has the full-backing of my connections, a boon my Rou'er will soon have. He showed prowess in hand-to-hand but he showed interest in the spear lately but that can wait until he's tall enough for his first spear.' said Concubine Qin confidently.
'Very well. We will check on Zhongqi soon and start his cultivation.'
Concubine Xue gave Qin a dirty look for being a braggart. But sadly, that was all true. Being a former maid like Fang, she doesn't have such connections even Fang was ahead of her in that regard, being a maid in this estate since her husband was young that she saw and learned a lot! She cannot lose to anyone!
'Next, what of Zhonglei and Yun?' Senior Master asked. 'Yun being a year older than her brother.'
'Yun'er has more talent than her brother.' said Xue. 'When I gave her, her first set of herbs to begin cultivation, she showed talent in Qi control so I have high hopes for her. Zhonglei doesn't like martial arts much, only practicing out of necessity so I'm prioritizing Yun'er's growth. He seems to like studying more, favoring history and herbalism.'
Fool of a woman, Fang and Qin thought as even Princess Long gave Xue a stunned look. Her son actually has his own ambitions and she seriously looked down on studying of all things? As expected from a newbie maid who doesn't know how things roll! He could have been a future government official and she looked down on that?! Moron!
Their husband is also blind, but NOT their father in-law who saw through Xue's words as well.
'We will hold this meeting again, when the younger children are older.' said Master Xiao as most of his kids, are still babies!

Princess Huang Beiyue, is currently a year old.
She has the palest shade of pinkish-fair skin and a very beautiful baby that's well-behaved...only crying when she wants something. Only two things, otherwise she'll spend her time sleeping.
Princess Long learned to check for either of two things: her milk, or a nappy change. A perfectly fuss-free baby!
Until solid food time came.
She wanted food that's not too flavored, so that left eggs, and steamed food that wasn't flavored at all before crushing them to a pulp for feeding and she never complained again. Princess Long figured she's still a baby, so what's normal is too much for a baby.
Come three years old, time to raise a princess!
Luckily her daughter thought of it as normal. That her life is all about study. While that's normal, most kids have a CHILDHOOD such as having friends and getting to play, but in the social upper-class, reputation will make or break you. They have no time for a happy childhood so she was jealous of commoners when she travels and sees how commoner children live, and found herself very sad.
She then met a man who showed her a side of the world she never knew, and they fell in love, but war tore them apart. Heck, she did an unthinkable thing too but for her child's safety...lied about some things to her mother and grandmother. But she knows full well, that her daughter belonged to her beloved. Not to her...husband, or to one other. They once defeated a great evil together and sadly, had to seal him in an unborn life to truly contain him and they both feared for their child whom they sacrificed as in a world like this, strength matters.
She never heard nor saw him ever again and she was doomed to a loveless marriage. All she had left, were memories of his love, and their child named after where he came from.
Beiyue originally has her father's hair and eye color that she quickly rectified with pills to make it as black as hers to hide her true paternity and making her infidelity public. Thankfully, the colors were all she got.
But her beauty indeed outshone hers. Dear lord knows if she caused trouble just by existing, Beiyue even more so when she grows up! And she was naturally tender-hearted and gentle...but in shopping, she likes black dresses with erm, interesting patterns and WHY?! She had to persuade her child why black, is a symbolical no-no!
Thankfully no tantrums came after and Beiyue chose purple, white, blue and green clothes. But still, with interesting patterns and favored straight-collared Qixiong Ruquns for clothes as a child and wanted her shoes to have er, carved platforms, which she drew for the shoemaker. Thankfully for now flat as in the future, the platform shape...is that even safe?!
Not only that, her daughter seems OK...she can still cultivate somehow...maybe her lover found a way to tweak the seal?
Phew.
Their daughter will not suffer then.
Age three was when Beiyue took interest in...a lot of food. She would ask for a plate of meat, vegetables with mushrooms and shellfish, that's three different dishes to go with a single bowl of rice. That's like, three side dishes! And she insists everyone eats the same. Apparently she got appalled when she saw what servants eat in the kitchens...to be fair, not even Huiwen knew what her maids eat all these years, but they were told that food allowed only to them under service by the Royal Housekeeper who was in charge of all servants, was wheat/millet/barley porridge and a bowl of soup!
'Actually, this is apparently what all servants eat.' said a maid. 'I once asked the Xiao Estate girls and they eat the same we do.'
'That's...gross.' Huiwen choked.
'Well we can't complain or lose our jobs.' was the reason.
When they began eating a new way, they all felt better than ever and got more energy. And Beiyue has gotten bigger and taller!
And now, at age eight for Zhonglei, there's a family meeting yet again. Xiao Yun already performed well in her first debut in Lingyang School.
'How are second son, and third and fourth daughters?' Senior Master asked the three other wives.
'Zhonglei really favors books more in a world like ours.' said Xue sadly. 'The most he can do, is low-level quests in his future. He just isn't interested! He just doesn't understand that strength matters more in this world! I appeal to you, Senior Master.'
'Umu. I shall hear his side later on.' said Senior Master. 'But know this, Xue, Yuancheng, some people are just not meant for martial arts. Even people will know in their instincts, that it is not their calling for reasons beyond control, or simply out of preference in favor of a peaceful lifestyle and that doesn't mean the end of the world. Ling and Zhonglei are such examples, choosing to excel in fields they are attracted to. It is sometimes best to let them shine where they want to shine. Zhonglei likes books eh? There are so many lucrative careers that involve a lot of book-cracking I will teach him personally.' Yuancheng and Xue looked relieved at that.
'What of the younger daughters?'
'Beiyue's a little...odd.'
'Odd?'
'Yes...as a baby I have no fuss, but come toddlerhood, she wants everything she owns in black!' Princess Long cried in dismay.
'BLACK?!' the family yelped. Black is an unlucky color! However, with some of its meanings, only military men can wear it to promise destruction upon their foes as a symbol!
'I had to dissuade her of the notion and why black is beyond my understanding...thankfully she's easy to reason with.' Princess Long sighed. 'Her studies are going well, but she likes martial arts to do with body flexibility, gracefulness but with deadly sharp strikes. Rigid-styled martial arts aren't suited for her. For her Qi levels she is around second layer now about to breakthrough to third layer.'
"Third layer?!" while the Masters were astonished, the women were vexed and Fang gave the other two wives a deadpanned look, being readable easily for even her.
"Damn rich woman!" Qin fumed. Xue was just as vexed as they rely on their husband for money while Princess Long is wealthy on her own, being Princess Miyang and Beiyue being Princess Qinghe. It makes sense her daughter is way ahead in cultivation than even the Childe of the house at that age!
'Very good.' said Senior Master. 'What of Fourth Daughter?'
'For now, body training and martial arts skills other than her lady lessons, until we acquire a pill for her to break through first layer.' said Qin unhappily.
'Very well. For now, let's take our time and pace. For now we must prioritize Zhongqi's cultivation as he is the future face of the Xiao Clan as its future head.' said the old master. 'Zhongqi shall represent the body, Zhonglei shall represent intellect. Two promising sons indeed!' the old master was pleased. 'The daughters also show promise and we must cultivate social relations as well.' he said. 'I leave that to you, ladies.'
That was their job in the first place.
The wives must raise the child of their master and make his bloodline look good to society. A husband's duty is providing, protection and training. Failing that, means failing the clan and a wife can get thrown out any time with her weak child. Fang was a step away if she wasn't smart with Ling. While with her smarts she prevented that fate, no noblewoman will want to marry Ling. She has no choice but to marry beneath her station.
'Yes, Senior Master.'

'Third Layer at age seven...' Yuancheng mused. 'Most aspiring warriors reach third layer at age 15...' he shook.
'Either that's money or talent or both speaking. You know full well how wealthy Princess Long is and she has a lot of connections.' said his father Qiyuan. 'And a Royal cannot lose face of all people and you know it.'
'...'
'For now, we must focus our funding on Zhongqi. Yun may have Summoning Talent but raising Summoners are expensive.' said Qiyuan. 'And unlike me, her ability is so little, she's better off as a Warrior unless we luck out somehow by finding a beast to Tame for her. Zhongqi is our top priority. He must excel as a Warrior.'
'Yes, father.'

At home...
Seven years old Huang Beiyue has a look on her face that should not belong to a child.
It belonged to one who has lived for so long, as her black hair turned pink and her eyes green.
In her own eyes, flashed memories of a life that definitely wasn't of this world.
She was once Akasha Bloodriver, a Shinso Vampiress, a vampire of beyond S-Class Powers befitting of being called a Dark Lord. She was the most powerful Vampire in the world, only held back by her own kindness.
She married a wonderful husband, had wonderful daughters, and a second love as Akashiya Moka, the personality protecting her daughter Moka.
Now here, she has a wonderful mother and royal uncle and grandmother whom she meets, but her own household is cutthroat and competitive.
Well, she's very strong~
Her soul with its immense powers has been active even with her new body being a baby. She was aware of the prison in her body and her prisoner, and its existence reliant on Ki. This means her new body cannot cultivate. So she used Youjutsu to keep Yan in prison while working on a friendly relationship with the being as her true self. Being both monsters in their true natures stuck in a human body, they have a lot to talk about, really.
If their body dies, they die too. Simple as that. They had that much understanding, at least.
Youki is different from Ki used by humans. With a few tricks, their body can cultivate and gain power. Akasha felt that her immense youki is to be a trump card should things go a little crazy.
Her so-called prodigiousness is simply a result of living so long. She lived since the dark ages of humanity on Earth as Vampires become immortal come age 20.
She has known Romanian, Chinese and Japanese language and culture, that this world while oh-so-different, similar in language, education and arts. Just that, culture is a lot different...
So yes, catching up is oh-so-easy. Her real hurdle, is society itself.
Her new mother, Huang Huiwen is a legend like herself in the past, earning the moniker Princess Long, being the most feared entity in the battlefield when war brewed some years back.
So now people expect a lot from her.
Yikes.
So she 'showed her genius' that got her royal relatives in glee.
Mother soon got her her own handmaiden, a girl named Dongling whom she picked up. She was a year older than her and an orphan.
Dongling was a shy, but earnest good girl who won't hesitate to speak her mind. Thus has to be taught by the older girls.
By age eight, she was now a seventh layer much to the disbelief of the Xiao Clan, and much to the chagrin of Concubines Xue and Qin and the jealousy of her siblings. And to add insult to injury, Zhongqi was fourth layer and her beauty was incredible, a beauty surpassing her mother's.
Vampire Charm, anyone?
And at Lingyang School where EVERYONE wanted to meet the youngest princess, she shocked everybody and their great-grandparent with what she shocked the Xiao Clan with.
'Seventh layer at just eight years old?!'
'A beautiful genius just like her mother!'
'She seems graceful with class!'
As for martial skill?
Huiwen had to hold back how shocked even she herself was when she watched her daughter perform in Physical Strength, Speed, Agility, Flexibility, Evasion and Parrying Skills...
Physical Strength Test? They were required to punch a rock and inflict damage to show their strength. The most kids can do were cracks or light dents. Her? A deep dent the size of a deep soup bowl(she held back).
Speed? Outran everyone else in a blur.
Agility was mixed with Evasion Test in dodging projectiles and showed the gracefulness of a fairy with her lightness kungfu Fuhai taught her as 'lightness' was a trademark of chinese martial arts.(watch the anime of Condor Hero characters jumping about)
Flexibility Test showed her bendy like a reed and Parrying Skills with one's own weapon, say, a knife. Against projectiles and how many can they block out of 100.
'You've outdone yourself, sister!' the Emperor gushed out in delight.
'She shocks even me...Yue's always a fast learner...' said Huiwen with comical sweatdrops. 'You have a genius son too don't you?'
'Mm! Zhanye and Beiyue will go well together for the future.'
'Brother they're cousins through us.'
'Didn't stop our ancestors before as long as it's a suitable match.'
'Ma, let the children decide.' said Huiwen. 'After all, one's heart cannot be controlled.' that, and everyone will try talking to her in hopes they score her daughter for their own sons!
The only ones not happy, were Concubines Qin, Xue and their daughters while the Xiao sons were amazed.
Normally, Akasha would not be so boastful.
However, in a world like this, she HAS to show off. That way, anyone can easily tell what's wrong with her if her performance began to suck.
Poisoning rivals is common in this world.

'Mama, you're leaving again?' Beiyue asked her mother who wore armor again.
'Yes dear, it's a big job again.' Huiwen smiled. 'I'll be coming home at winter, so behave alright?'
'Yes mama. I'll visit royal uncle for today, can I?'
'Of course dear, but be home by sundown!'
'OK!'
