With the melee over, the tourney was winding down. The jousting finals being the main and last event of the whole tourney, with Rhaegar, Barristain, Brandon, Arthur and other big names left. The first match was set to be Ser Barristain against Prince Rhaegar. Many smallfolk bet on Barristain taking the win, but to everybody's surprise on the fifth tilt, Barristain was unhorsed by Rhaegar, flying off his white steed and landing flat on his back.

Brandon unhorsed Yohn Royce on his fourth tilt, with Arthur unhorsing Eon Hunter and Lewyn unhorsing Robert Barratian on the eight tilt. So once again the names were mixed and drawn, with Brandon facing Arthur and Rhaegar facing Lewyn in the semi-finals of the jousting competition.

Brandon got upon his black stallion and Arthur got on his silver steed. Brandon calmed his nerves and lowered the visors on his helm, at the exact same time as Arthur lowered his. Brandon raised his shield and grabbed the lance handed to him. He rode into the list fields and prepared his steed to gallop as soon as the horn blew.

Like the speed of an arrow, Brandon shot forward bringing down his shield carved with a direwolf to protect his chest, whilst aiming for Arthur's shoulder. Brandon looked and realized, Arthur was aiming his lance at Brandon's head, which was left unprotected by his shield. Brandon shifted his head to the left, letting the lance fly by his head whilst his lance made contact with Arthur's shield. The lance shattered, sending vibrations down Brandon's arm. Arthur withstood the attack with grace, as they rode past each other.

Brandon grabbed another lance from his servant and rode to his second tilt. This time, Arthur aimed at his chest hoping to overwhelm Brandon. Both his arm shook from the impact, one from the broken lance and the other from blocking Arthur's lance. This would be repeated for eleven tilts, the crowd screaming in joy as neither riders gave the other any ground.

Until finally, Brandon grabbed his ironwood lance, specially ordered from the Forresters. On the thirteenth tilt they rode at each other, both riders tired from their extensive riding, Brandon thrusted his lance forward, hoping to be able to push Arthur off. His ironwood lance would be able to fare much better against the impact and be able to push Arthur off. However, Arthur surprised Brandon, by bringing his shield forward and knocking his lance off course, rather than blocking. Brandon in surprise was unable to brace for the impact, and Brandon flew off his horse and skid to a stop. The crowd went wild at the spectacle and was in pure excitement for the next tilt.

The joust between Rhaegar and Lewyn was nothing of note. Lewyn was exhausted from his previous match against Robert and lost easily to Rhaegar on his fourth tilt. Lewyn then lost to Brandon for third place on the second tilt, having been totally exhausted. So for the final match of the entire tourney was between Rhaegar and Arthur. Arthur, tired and aching from his fight with Brandon, could not fight properly against Rhaegar at his absolute best. So Rhaegar, with his determination to win the joust, unhorsed Arthur on the eight tilt, surprising the smallfolk who had expected either Arthur of Barristain to win.

Upon receiving the crown of flower to crown the Queen of Love and Beauty, everybody expected Rhaegar to give the crown to his wife, Elia Martell. Instead, Rhaegar chose to ride past her and give the crown to Lyanna, sending shock waves through the entire audience. Eddard, Brandon Benjen, Tristifer, and all the other Northern magnars glaring at Rhaegar with unbridled rage. Lyanna took the crown out of kindness before getting up to leave with his brothers. This action is often cited by the Maesters and Scholars, who look back upon the event, as one of the underlying indications of the War for the Rose.

The tourney however, surprisingly ended with no other major incidents, with the Northern party going back home without any injury or trouble the following day. The calm juxtaposed to the excitement created by the Knight of the Laughing Tree and the crowning of the Queen of Love and Beauty, created a sense of tension and pressure within the noble participants of the tourney and anybody could feel the trouble that was brewing.

Thirteen moons have passed since the Great Tourney of Duskendale. During this time Eddard, before going back to Braavos to check on the Stark holdings in Braavos, married Lady Ashara six moons after the Great Tourney. The incident at the tourney was beginning to be forgotten by many of the nobles as they moved on to their daily tasks.

The North began to be harassed by a newly formed bandit group, who were surprisingly well armed. Brandon led a small part of the standing army with Archer, Berserker, and Beater to destroy the group of bandits. The bandits had a force of five hundred men and were hiding in a nearby cave system to be able to defend their position better.

Out of boredom, Lyanna and Benjen decided to go riding near the lands of Winterfell, as they always do when bored. With the Servant Guardian guarding their father, Assassin and Saber were dispatched to protect them, as they refused to take a retinue of guards.

They rode towards Wolfswood, until they saw a group of five quickly approach them. The five men had each an extra separate horse to ride when the other got tired, this allowed for maximum speed from each of the horses. None of the party's faces were visible, as they were shrouded in darkness. The multiple horses and equipment suggested nobility and wealth, instantly putting Lyanna and Benjen on edge.

Benjen gripping his sword yelled out "Stop in the name of your prince! Remove your hood and state your business!"

Ignoring his statement, the five riders continued to ride towards them and Servant Assassin after observing the men told Benjen and Lyanna, "They don't seem very friendly, your grace! The way that their cloaks move over them suggests that they are wearing armour underneath the cloak and each of them are well built with broad shoulders and they are carrying weapons! I suggest we leave!"

Benjen yelled "This is your last chance! If you do not stop and comply, we will retaliate!", whilst drawing his sword.

Lyanna strung her bow and grabbed an arrow in preparation to attack the incoming men. When Servant Assassin saw that the men were not stopping, she threw a throwing knife at one of the approaching men, while Servant Saber drew his sword and prepared to charge the men.

The man had to quickly bring up a shield to stop the knife. The blade hitting the shield with a thunk and sunk into the wood. The group quickly drew their swords and brought up their shields, one of them using it to block an incoming arrow fired by Lyanna.

Lyanna fired upon the men, hoping to land a hit but all of her arrows were blocked by their shields. Assassin after throwing two more knives and having it deflected, realized that these men were very skilled and it was pointless to continue to throw the knives at them.

Assassin turned to Benjen and Lyanna and said, "Get out of here, your graces! These men are very skilled fighters and are more numerous and bigger than us! I am not the best one on one combat fighter of the Wintersguards, we might not be able to guarantee your safety here!"

Lyanna screamed "I can't leave you guys here!"

Servant Saber yelled back "It is our solemn duty to protect the Royal family. Even at the cost of our lives! Now go!". He proceeded to hit Benjen's horse on the ass, sending it riding forward, back to Winterfell. He then turns to look at Lyanna, who nods and rides away, following Benjen.

Servant Assassin then pulls out two more of her daggers to throw at the incoming men. SShe tried a different tactic this time. She aimed for the horses instead, nailing the chest and causing the horse to throw their riders off. She had delayed one of the fighters as they got trapped within the stirrups of the horse as it fell. She then drew the Saxe knives, gifted to her by her mentor, the married inky blacks blades of the Servant Assassin drawing a sharp contrast to the evergreen trees of the North, while Servant Saber gripped his bastard sword tightly.

Steadying their breath they yell to each other, "For your honor, safety, and success."

The five men rode at them with their blades drawn, but one blade in particular caught her interest. The greatsword is pale as milk glass unlike Valyrian steel, but holds a similarity in strength and sharpness. The blade's legend was only surpassed by House Stark's blades. Forged from the heart of a fallen star and given to the Sword of the Morning, the most skilled knight of House Dayne. Seeing the blade she knew that she was facing the Kingsguard and the greatest swordsman in the south.

As they engaged, one of the men cut Assassin's horse down and she was forced to jump off to avoid being trapped.

Arthur stopped to tell Rhaegar "Go you grace! We can handle them!"

"Are you sure Arthur? They are of the legendary Wintersguards!"

"And we are of the legendary Kingsguard! We shall be able to handle them. Now go, your grace!"

Rhaegar disengaged the group to chase after Lyanna and Benjen. Assassin and Saber glaring at the men, before charging at Arthur and his group, who were revealed to be Jon Connington, Jonothor Darry, and Oswell Whent. Jon attempted to help Arthur and Jonothor against Saber, but was intercepted by Assassin and was completely surprised by dual wielding style of Assassin, and unable to provide much help. Oswell struggled to free himself from the stirrups and join the fight.

Saber spat at Arthur "Helping your leech of a prince, to kidnap Princess Lyanna? Disgusting bastard!"

"Prince Rhaegar is noble, kind, and honorable! You shall not speak badly of his name!" Arthur retaliated and tried to throw Saber away.

However, Saber was stronger than the Dornish man, and used it to push back with more force against Arthur, forcing him on the back step. Saber was the greatest swordsman of the North and had the advantage of being massive, with only Umbers being bigger within the North, and through constant training he removed his speed limitation, as he moved at speeds an average man could barely follow.

Assassin knew she had to eliminate the red headed man, presumably Jon, before Oswell could get free as she couldn't beat Oswell easily. Jon underestimated the smaller woman, due to his Andal prejudices, and could barely fend of Assassin's economical fast paced fighting style. As Oswell freed himself, Assassin cut Jon's right forearm forcing him to drop his blade, before getting behind him and stabbing in the throat. Oswell arrived just in time to watch the life fade from Jon's eye. Assassin quickly kicked Jon straight into Oswell, forcing him to expend energy pushing Jon away.

Oswell glared at Assassin and said "You just killed Lord Jon Connington, close friend of Rhaegar Targaryen and a good and honorable man."

"No man attempting to kidnap and rape a girl, with four other men no less, is honorable or good. I care not for the man's friendship with a foreign prince. He is in my land now and attacking one of the Wintersguards is a crime punishable by death, while attacking the Royal Family is punishable by the blood eagle!"

Assassin began to attack Oswell and landed a miniscule cut on him sending him reeling back.

Servant Saber blocked Jonothor's swings while kicking Arthur at the same time. Saber could hold Arthur and Jonothor back, he was struggling and had no time to retaliate against either one, as both fighters were incredibly capable. Saber needed Assassin's assistance to defeat the two fighters. Saber, having trained with Assassin for more than half of his life, knew that Assassin's ability would be best in the forest where she would have more hiding spots, so Saber and Assassin slowly lead the fighters into the woods, without them noticing.

The southern party realized that they were in the Wolfwood, when Saber used a branch to blind Jonothor by bending it and having it slap him in the face. Oswell was led away by Assassin further into the wood.

Hearing a branch snap behind him, Oswell spun around only to see nothing. He then sent sprawling forward by a kick delivered to his back. Not wanting to be lying down on the ground, he used his momentum to roll forward and turn around, but once again Assassin had disappeared. He was being more careful and so when a branch fell atop his helm he spun around carefully to make note of his surroundings and not be caught unawares.

Assassin's voice seemed to ring through the forest, whispering into his ear "I am everywhere yet nowhere. You can not escape me. No matter where you go, no matter way you hide, I will find you and gut you like a pig"

Oswell grew more and more paranoid as he kept spinning around trying to locate Assassin. Oswell began to get dizzy from constantly twisting and turning, at the slightest bit of noise. Oswell felt a presence appear in the tree branch above him, and he tried to spin. However, he couldn't turn fast enough though and the blade went through his neck, his eye wide in shock as his hand dropped his sword. Assassin swiftly pulled out the blade and wiped it on the white cloak of the Kingsguard, staining it before moving back to Saber to aid him.

Saber dodged a quick thrust of Dawn, by tilting his head to the side. The blade jabbed into the tree behind him, getting stuck briefly. Saber immediately capitalized and slashed at Arthur who was forced to back away without his blade. As Saber tried to kick Arthur, Jonothor slashed at Saber, who quickly dodged. Knowing that Assassin would be back soon, he bought more time for himself by pulling Dawn out of the wood and dual wielding the blades. Arthur was forced to dodge and in minor instances deflect with his gauntlets, as it would be suicide to block Valyrian Wintersteel and the mysterious metal of Dawn with his arms, whilst Jonothor blocked with his blade. This continued until Jonothor was kicked back by Saber. The kick would have been superficial had he not been kicked right into Assassin's blade which went straight through his neck. Jonothor could only look in shock at the blade protruding from his neck. HIs body went slack as he began to gargle blood.

Arthur said "How can you be so dishonorable! You just stabbed a man in the back! Jonothor didn't even realize you were there! Have you no honor, savage? Now you plan to kill me with my own blade, whilst I have none to defend myself against two people."

"Honor? Do you think honor led to the Starks conquering the biggest kingdom of Westeros? Honor that killed the Boltons, the Greystarks, or the White Walkers? No! it was intelligence and brutality that did it. The Stark's banner isn't a direwolf for no reason. Honor comes second, after protecting the family and staying alive, the Starks are my family now and you have threatened it!"

Saber slams the pommel of the blade into Arthur's head, dazing him while Assassin kicked the leg of Arthur out. Saber took off Arthur's helm, before forcing Arthur on his knees.

"You have forgotten the debts owed by House Dayne to House Stark! House Stark is credited for the rise in power of House Dayne. House Stark is the main reason why House Dayne didn't fall to the Yronwoods or the Martells. House Stark raised House Dayne into its greatness, allowing their gifts with the blade to flourish. Yet here you are, in the North attempting to kidnap Princess Lyanna. How dare you forget your debts! How dare you cite honor while trying to kidnap a girl promised and courting another and rape her. How dare you attack the family of your sister's husband!"

Arthur couldn't help but look down in shame, before looking up and saying "Am I to be killed?

For a second, Saber's eye flashed in anger with his grip on the blade tightening, but the second passed and Saber said "I do not get to decide that. While normally an attack on the royal party is grounds for an instant execution, your sister has married into the royal family. King Rickard shall determine your fate."

Saber then smashed the pommel of his blade into Arthur's head knocking him out.

Lyanna and Benjen rode hard back to Winterfell, only to find their way blocked by a river. Normally they would just ride along the river until they found the bridge but they had no such time. Rhaegar would be right on top of them within minutes. Knowing running would be futile, Benjen pulls out his blade and horn. The horn when blown would hopefully attract the soldiers along the Wintercity walls, as the horn made a very distinct deep noise. He then threw the horn aside as stopping it from getting in his way.

"Lyanna run! I will hold him off!"

Lyanna screams "No, I will not leave you behind!" and Lyanna once again grabbed her bow and rained arrows down on the man only for it to be all blocked.

"Damn it, Lyanna! You are the better rider, you can get away! Besides he is after you!"

Benjen clashed blades with Rhaegar and was immediately placed on the back foot. Rhaegar was still one of the best fighters of his age group and Benjen had yet to put on enough muscles to be able to fully counter Rhaegar. As Benjen was engaged with Rhaegar, Lyanna was unable to shoot in fear of hitting Benjen, so she could only watch as Benjen got disarmed and slashed.

As Benjen fell, Lyanna was given the opportunity to shoot Rhaegar and she immediately capitalized. Rhaegar roared in pain as an arrow pierced the back of his left shoulder and out through the front. Rhaegar turned and slashed Lyanna's bow in half before back handing her. Lyann screamed in pain as she fell. She attempted to crawl away but Rhaegar put his foot down on her back forcing her into the ground. She quickly flipped around, throwing Rhaegar off balance and drew her dagger. While she was pretty skilled with the blade, she knew Rhaegar had her beaten in every category. She had hoped that because his right shoulder was injured she could fend him off until Saber and Assassin arrived.

Her plan fell apart when Rhaegar wielded his blade with his left hand as well as he did with his right. Of course the fucker had to be ambidextrous. As soon her blade went flying from her hands, Rhaegar tackled her to the ground.

"Stay still my love. I am trying to get you out of this barbaric lands"

"I am not your fucking love, you fucking lizard shit! I will not go with you!"

"What are you talking about my love, you lusted after me at the Tourney."

Lyanna spit in Rhaegar's face before screaming "I did not lust after a mother fucking maddened imbecile like you!"

Rhaegar's face contorted into anger at the mention of his mother.

He slapped her face before grabbing Lyanna's neck choking her "Dont fucking talk about my mother like that you whore!"

As Lyanna struggled to get free, Rhaegar had a maddened gleam in his eye as he tightened his grip one last time before letting go.

"You are a lucky bitch. I wanted to do this the easy way, my love, but you made my life more difficult."

As Lyanna gasped for air, Rhaegar tied Lyanna's arm and legs behind her back before grabbing his horse. As his anger dissipated, the pain of the arrow flared causing him to grit his teeth. He threw Lyanna onto his back-up horse and looked through his saddle bag for medicine to treat his wounds, having used his gifted mind to learn the art of basic healing from the Grand Maester. However, before he could attempt to pull the arrow out, a horn blew through the air.

He head shot upward to see Benjen had crawled back to his horn to blow it one more time. Rhaegar moved toward Benjen, intending to kill the insolent boy. However, he could make out Saber and Assassin riding towards them at full speed. Growling in anger, Rhaegar jumped onto his horse without healing his wound and rode away with Lyanna.

Saber and Assassin arrived to where the fight had taken place and instantly assessed the situation. Benjen didn't even need to explain, as Saber shot forwards to intercept Rhaegar.

Benjen said "Go rescue my sister Assassin, I will be fine. This is only a minor cut", while pushing Assassin away

"Your grace, Saber can handle Rhaegar. I have to make sure to treat you before that wound has a chance to get infected. Besides I have to carry Arthur around as well, so I would never catch up."

Benjen nodded his head in acceptance and allowed Assassin to treat him.

Saber rode at breakneck speeds towards Rhaegar. His Northern Warhorse in its element, unlike Rhaegar's Reach Destrier which was not adjusted to the cold, nor did his Northern Warhorse have to carry another person.

Soon Saber was riding next to Rhaegar and said "Give up the Princess and surrender, only then will you be unharmed!"

Rhaegar screamed back "The dragon must have 3 heads!"

Saber drew his sword and used his longer reach to attack Rhaegar. He approached from the left, hoping to use the offside advantage but was disappointed to discover Rhaegar was ambidextrous. Saber was clearly the superior fighter and Rhaegar's blade was knocked out of his hand within 30 clashes.

However, Rhaegar realized Saber was unable to kill his horse while they were traveling at this speed because he might kill Lyanna. Grinning at this realization, Rhaegar attempts to grow the distance between them without slowing down at all. Saber realized Rhaegar's thought process, and luckily Rhaegar was unable to outrun or outpace his Northern Warhorse while they were in the North.

Knowing he had to stop the horse, Saber drew close, blocking Rhaegar's failing arms before throwing a jab at Rhaegar's chin. Realizing what Saber was attempting to do Rhaegar was just able to dodge the punch but he had to slow his horse down to do so. This left him vulnerable and Saber immediately took advantage, by slashing at Rhaegar's shoulder, forcing him to come to a complete stop as he instinctively pulled back on the reins. Rhaegar, knowing he failed, attempted to flee by throwing himself off the horse but he got stuck on the stirrups and landed flat on his face.

Saber dismounted his horse and approached Rhaegar. Rhaegar saw the look of rage on Saber's face and panicked, struggling to free his feet from the stirrup. Saber approached Rhaegar and Lyanna and saw the bruises on Lyanna's neck and the foot mark on her back. Saber growled in rage before grinning maniacally.

Saber approached Rhaegar and said "Are you stuck? Let me help,"

Saber then raised his leg and stamped down on the stuck leg. The snapping of bone rang through the air and Rhaegar's screams of pain soon followed. Saber then moved to untie Lyanna.

"Are you okay Princess?"

"Yes, I am fine. Thank you for saving me."

"It is my pleasure."

Lyanna then turned to Rhaegar and her beautiful face contorted in rage. She spat on his face, before kicking him in the balls.

"Saber, tie him up and let's go back home."

Brandon after dealing with the bandits, was organizing the removal of camp and the ride back to Winterfell, when a rider rode into camp. They quickly looked at Brandon and quickly approached him.

"His grace has a message for you, Prince Brandon. Prince Rhaegar attempted to kidnap Princess Lyanna, with three Kingsguard members and a southern Lord. All but Rhaegar Targaryen and Arthur Dayne have been killed, with the other two being detained in the Winterfell's ice dungeons. His grace commands you to go to King's Landing and gain an apology from King Aerys and reparation for the act of war by Prince Rhaegar in return for Prince Rhaegar's safe return."

Brandon's fury could be seen by all and the sky itselves seemed to respond to his anger as a storm began to brew.

"Servant Berserker, you and Beater will accompany me down to King's Landing with 30 men of your choice. Servant Archer, you are to lead the men back here to Winterfell and help my father as he calls for the banners! We leave by midday, so move!"

A/N: So an explanation about the magic of this world. House Stark is the most magically powerful House. Meaning on average, when a Stark has magical abilities they will be very powerful. However, this does not mean every single Stark has magical abilities. Practically all Starks have warg abilities, but being able to warg is like the simplest piece of magic you can do. House Stark has the ability to draw upon ice and storm magic, often combining the two to create a blizzard, and only 1 Stark like every generation has this ability. It can skip a cloud of generations, with the record of the main family line not having elemental magic being 3 generations. The ability to warg is far more common, as 1/500 people have the ability. Greensight is rarer with 1/1000 wargs having the ability and Greenseers are the rarest with 1/1000 wargs with Greesight having the ability. Greensight is the ability to merge with the weirwood tree to witness the past. Greenseers is the ability to have prophetic dreams.
