The ginger-haired predator watches intently as her chosen prey attaches himself to his pack, a small, three-creature group of young males. The predator knows her prey is of a mature age, and searches the area around him, searching for any possible female threats she would have to take care of. She spots one, a young child, also ginger. The predator watches and waits for the ideal time to take action, but stays back once she realizes the other female is paying her prey no mind.
It then occurs to the predator that her prey is leaving her line of sight, and she follows. He is talking loudly, and in an angry manner, and she hangs back again. His rage makes him seem vulnerable, but it's when he's irritated enough to leave his protective bubble of a group that will truly leave him helpless and ready for the predator's attack. She waits, and listens. He seems to be getting angry over a failed scam, which means that he will not leave at this time. She curses, wishing she could get a chance.
She follows him for a few more minutes, until he says something about meeting up with his friends later. She grins, blue and gold teeth sticking out clearly, and thanks the skies. He'll be alone. Just as she's about to get up and pounce her prey, she hears his voice.
"I know you're there, Lee," he says, his voice clear, despite his back being turned.
She freezes, and comes out of the bush where she was hiding. Her prey turns to face her, a smirk on his lips and a single eyebrow raised. She grins back, though her curtain of curly bangs hides the actual surprise in her eyes.
"You know, you coulda called me," he says, rolling his eyes and opening his bedroom door. He gestures a hand inside. "You wanna come in? My parents won't be home for hours."
The predator smiles much more genuinely and strolls inside. Her hunt may have ended a little differently than she imagined, but hey, who was she to complain?
