Hey everyone!

I know it's been a long time. I haven't updated Summer Girl since 2016! It's a little surreal to me, as the story never really left my mind. I hope this comes as good news to all of you: I've decided to "re-write" the story. It's been years; I started this fic at sixteen years old, and now I'm a twenty-one year old college student. Like I said before, the story always stuck with me. This was the hardest one to leave without updates. A lot of stuff in my life changed, and the story was hard for me to keep magical. I'm feeling a little more comfortable in my life now, and a couple friends and my boyfriend convinced me that it might be a good idea to come back to this story since I loved it so much. I started writing it again, purely out of fun, but I guess it occurred to me that I really miss this fandom and the sense of community I felt as a fic writer. This is getting a little long, so I just want to point out a few things:

If you like the story exactly as it is now, I encourage you to re-read it as many times as you like. Feel free to copy/paste to your own archives and keep a copy of how it is now. Once I publish the newly written Summer Girl, the old files will disappear. Contact me either here, or on tumblr as sleepyaugustus if you are unable to copy/paste the story and would like to keep it. I remember how heartbreaking it could be when a fic writer deleted one of my favorite stories that held a lot of memories and nostalgia for me. I want this to be as painless as possible.

That being said, I want to point out that the new Summer Girl will undergo significant changes. I've already gotten into writing it, and there are just some things I felt needed to be changed. There were a lot of aspects of the story I was unhappy with, but logistically couldn't change while writing it the first time, because I was simply too far in. This is a great opportunity for me to write it with a little more experience under my belt. Not to say it will be perfect, as nothing I do ever is. I promise I will try to keep it as true to the original as possible!

Your support is what keeps me writing. I need motivation to stick with this. I'm a full time college student in a bit of a rigorous program. I take 18 credits, so I have A LOT of homework. As of right now, writing Summer Girl has been a bit of a hobby of mine. Something fun to do when I need a break from homework. Please try to keep it fun for me! Begging for updates rarely helps at all, but letting me know how much you love it will go a long way! So keep reviewing and feel free to leave constructive criticism when applicable. I'd love to hear from you all on my tumblr as well, and I'll try to keep everyone updated on there.

The reason I am publishing the New Summer Girl to this story document instead of a new one is simply because I want to have the opportunity to reach everyone who enjoyed this story in the past. The old documents will ALWAYS be available so long as you contact me. I'm hoping you'll like the new version more than the last though!

I hope you're all doing well, and I can't wait to write for you again.

Bella
