To start off, this is the re-written version of Endlessly! Yay! Honestly, I have NO IDEA how this got as popular as it did. I thought it was real shit. Hopefully though, I did better this time around and more people like it! :) Oh, and I actually have a plot line going this time and it's not just kind of thrown together with nowhere to go. I now know where I'm taking this, thank God.

But, as always Hiro Mashima owns Fairy Tail and the characters, I only own the willpower to write this.

And also this story is inspired by Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater. If you've read it, you'll notice similarities, but not a lot. So, credit goes to her too cause she's an amazing author. And if you've never heard of her, CHECK HER OUT!

But! Without further ado! Here is Endlessly take two! Enjoy!

"In all honesty, I feel bad for Natsu." Seventeen year old Levy McGarden spoke aloud to her two best friends. Cana Alborne paused mid bite of her lunch to raise a brow at her blue-haired friend.

"Why?" She asked curiously before shoving a very large portion of salad into her mouth. Levy scrunched her nose in disgust but shrugged at the question.

"I don't know, he's a nice guy but he doesn't seem to have any friends." Levy paused looking back at the boy they were currently talking about. "I mean, he's sat in the exact same spot since we started high school three years ago and I have never seen anyone sit by him. Not once." Cana swallowed her mouthful and followed Levy's gaze over to Natsu. She stared at him for a minute, studying him. He wasn't doing anything special, just tits deep buried in a book like he normally was. Cana wondered for a moment why Levy and Lucy took such interest in him. Maybe she was missing something.

"Once in a while I'll see Gray over there." Cana said and looked over to Levy again before taking another bite. Levy furrowed her brows and glanced over to Lucy before connecting eyes with Cana.

"He never sits with him though. Gray literally goes over there says four words to him and then leaves. That's not good friendship." Levy huffed out almost worked up. Cana almost snorted.

"Who are we to judge their friendship though?" Cana pointed her fork at Levy. "Maybe he thinks our friendship is weird since we're never apart. What if he thinks their friendship is completely normal?" Levy pursed her lips together.

"Who would think that's normal though?" Levy picked at her fruit salad deep in thought.

"You don't know his life Levy. None of us do, so just stop worrying about it." Cana's eyes flicked over to Lucy. "Tell her to stop worrying about it to." Levy sighed, looking over to her other best friend and took a large drink of her orange juice.

"She's been like this for as long as I can remember, Cana. There's no breaking her of this cycle." Levy shook her head.

"Honestly, it got annoying a long time ago." Cana ate her last bite of salad before grabbing Lucy's uneaten pudding cup off her tray and opening it. "I guess its fine as long as I get to keep eating her food, but I just don't understand why she doesn't just go over there and talk to him. He moved here, like what, five years ago?"

"Eight, Cana." Levy corrected. Cana rolled her eyes.

"Fine, he moved here eight years ago and since day one, she has had this staring problem with him. Like, what the hell?!" Cana threw her hands up in frustration. "I just don't understand."

"You know she's shy." Levy tried defending Lucy. Cana rolled her eyes again.

"Shy my ass, she's the biggest social butterfly this school knows, plus he's her fucking neighbor!" Levy fought back a chuckle rising in her throat.

"I love it when you get angry." Levy smiled wide. Cana huffed, placing the half-eaten pudding cup on the table and crossed her arms over her chest.

"Bite me, Princess." Cana sneered causing Levy to laugh.

"Sorry, I only bite buff, spiky haired men named Gajeel." Levy winked causing Cana to laugh loudly.

"Maybe Lucy should start biting Natsu and then she'd get over her staring problem." Cana leaned over toward Lucy and clapped right in front of face causing her to jump and eyes to widen drastically.

"What the fuck is your problem with that boy, Lucy?" Cana spoke loudly causing a few students from other tables to look over at them. Lucy blinked, completely dazed.

"What are you talking about Cana?" She questioned. Cana rolled her eyes.

"Natsu. I'm talking about Natsu, Lucy. Like how you always stare at him in whatever class you have with him and at lunch when you're supposed to be giving me the latest drama of our classmates." Lucy slowly blinked again.

"I was staring at him?" Lucy asked, puzzled. Levy blinked completely dumbfounded.

"Um, yes." Levy drug out the last word, confused.

"For, like, the last eight years." Cana added. She could've yelled it at her but kept her voice low so meddling ears wouldn't overhear.

"No, I haven't." Lucy crossed her arms over her chest and huffed.

"Yes, you have." Levy grabbed her phone out of her pocket and swiped the screen to unlock it. "Look at these pictures I've been not-so-secretly taking of you periodically this school year staring at that poor kid." Lucy took the phone from Levy and began swiping through an album named 'Lucy's problem'. She scrolled through all the pictures of a dazed looking Lucy staring at supposedly Natsu.

"God, I swear I'm going crazy." Lucy shook her head and sighed loudly. Levy took back her phone, shoving it in her pocket and chuckled.

"Honey, you've been crazy for a long time now." She said smiling.

"Yeah, for the last eight years." Cana chuckled out. "But," Cana's voice took a sudden serious tone. "You've been like this for a long time, so why do you think now you're going crazy?"

Lucy sighed and rubbed her eyes with the back of her hands. Worries kept plaguing her mind as she wondered whether or not to tell her best friends what she had recently discovered about her mysterious neighbor.

"Is it because you've finally figured out that you've been in love with Natsu Dragneel for the past eight years?" Levy almost whispered, eyes bright and smile wide. Lucy rolled her eyes.

"I'm not in love with him nor have I ever been." She defended herself.

"Keep telling yourself that, girlfriend." Cana teased.

"He is literally all you talk about. I mean, come on, we spy on his doorway when we stay the night!" Levy threw her hands up to emphasize her point.

"Stop being annoying." Lucy hissed out noticing the looks some of the cafeteria goers were giving the three girls. Levy rolled her eyes dramatically.

"I'll stop saying it when you finally accept it." Lucy was beginning to grow frustrated with her friends. She knew that they weren't going to leave her alone until she gave them something else to talk about.

Time to spill the tea.

"Erza Scarlet has been going over to his apartment after school every single night this week." She rushed out. Levy's mouth dropped and Cana gasped.

"Are you fucking kidding me?!" Cana nearly yelled gaining more attention and glares from other students.

"Be quiet!" Lucy hushed her friend. Lucy almost wished she hadn't told them, but she really did need someone to vent about this with.

"Why haven't you told us sooner?!" Cana gripped Lucy's arms and shook her a little. "This is the kind of drama I'm talking about!" Lucy hushed her brunette friend louder this time and thought about covering her mouth.

"I didn't know what it meant and honestly I still don't know so that's why I haven't said anything." She whispered harshly knowing people were listening in on their conversation now. She didn't want the whole school talking about this.

"So, why are you saying something now?" Levy asked knowing there was something she was hiding. Lucy avoided her intense gaze and struggled with what she was going to say next.

"Because last night was weird." She finally said. Levy and Cana looked at her confused. Lucy cleared her throat before continuing. "So, you guys know that we live in special housing for emancipated kids and Natsu and I are the only ones living there right now," Both of the girls nodded. "Well, last night, probably two hours after Erza had already gotten over to his place, I kept hearing these really loud banging noises, almost like someone was moving furniture around."

"He was totally fucking her brains out, wasn't he?" Cana asked, face completely emotionless. Levy laughed.

"Oh my God, Cana! Stop!" Levy's laughter died down and she motioned for Lucy to continue.

"Anyways," Lucy glared at Cana. "After a little while I started hearing this weird groaning sound-"

"Those are called sex noises Lucy." Cana interrupted, a smile dancing at the corners of her lips. Lucy slapped Cana's thigh.

"Not like that!" Lucy yelled. She cringed after saying it so loudly, praying that everyone wasn't staring at her. "It was like painful groaning." Both the girls gave Lucy the look to elaborate more. "You remember how in seventh grade when we were all in cheerleading and you fell and broke your arm Cana?" Cana nodded, absentmindedly rubbing the bone she had broken five years ago. "It was like that kind of groaning, like, someone was in extreme pain."

"That's weird." Levy whispered.

"And it gets weirder." Lucy leaned in closer to the girls. "I went out into the hallway next and stood by his door, just in case something had happened and I was going to need to call the ambulance or something, and I could hear crying on the other side of the door."

"Think he fucked her too hard?" Cana asked.

"Oh my God!" Levy yelled and slapped Cana's arm hard. Cana yelped and glared at the petite girl.

"That wasn't nice!" She yelled back.

"Don't joke about this, it could be something serious." Levy hissed out. "Lucy could've witnessed a murder last night!" Cana's eyes got huge then.

"Do you think you did?" She asked Lucy. Lucy shook her head.

"I have no idea what happened last night. All I know is that Erza never left his apartment last night that I know of, and I haven't seen her in school yet today." Cana's face considerably paled.

"Go talk to him." Levy suddenly said. Lucy's brows raised in surprise.

"Excuse me?"

"Go talk to him, see if there's any sign that he's guilty."

"She can't go talk to a murderer!" Cana hissed out. "They live in their apartment complex alone. I don't know about you but I would prefer if our friend kept all of her organs inside her body!"

"You two are so dramatic!" Lucy shook her head. "I really, really don't think he killed her, I just thought it was really weird, but of course you two turn it into something off of the ID channel." Cana and Levy both looked at Lucy like she had grown a second head. Lucy nodded over to the cafeteria door where none other than Erza was standing with crutches, her leg casted from the knee down.

"Obviously not dead." Cana and Levy both sighed in relief.

"So, you think they were fucking and she broke her leg?" Cana asked, back to the sexual innuendo. Lucy and Levy rolled their eyes.

"I guess it could be a possibility." Lucy looked back over to where Natsu was sitting, completely immersed in his book. Levy and Cana began talking again, but Lucy tuned them out. She knew Natsu wasn't some sort of murderer, and she really hoped Erza and he didn't have anything going on. Levy was right, Lucy had had a crush on him for as long as she could remember, but was always so nervous to go talk to him. It never made sense why she was so nervous around him. She was popular and went through her share of boys, but this one. There was just something so different about him.

"Oh, God, here comes the 'Thunder Legion'." Lucy heard Levy say. She looked over toward the entrance and sure enough, Magnolia high school's biggest bullies were on their rampage. At the head of the group was none other than Laxus Dreyer. Kicked out of his last school for beating kids up, he came to this school to raise even more hell because he knew he could get away with it. And right behind him were his little group of followers: Freed, Bixslow, and Evergreen. They had never been a problem before Laxus showed up, but once the four of them got together everyone cowered away from them.

"Fucking assholes." Cana hissed out, shooting death glares at all of them.

"I really don't like using the word 'hate' when talking about people, so I guess I'll just say that I loathe those monsters." Levy spat out.

Lucy watched the four make their way through the cafeteria, mainly Laxus. He was a broad shouldered, mean looking guy with a large lightening shaped scar running down the right side of his face. Lucy knew him from when they were young and neighbors. He used to pull her hair and make fun of the way she dressed. She hated him back then and now he was just worse.

Then she noticed where they were headed. To Natsu.

"Why can't they ever leave him alone?" She heard one of the other kids at a different table say.

"I know, I feel so bad for him." Another kid said.

This was the first time Lucy had actually seen them pick on him. She had always heard about Natsu being their go-to when finding their next victim, but never witnessed it.

She watched as Laxus went up behind Natsu, smacking the back of his head before taking his book and throwing it on the ground. He bent over to pick it up only to have Bixslow step on his hand and Evergreen to laugh in his face. Lucy could feel white-hot rage start to crawl up her neck.

"I wish I wasn't such a fucking coward." She heard Cana whisper out. And that was when she decided what she was about to do.

"Good thing I'm not." She hissed out before standing and walking over to the other side of the room where they all were.

"What the fuck?" She heard Cana almost yell but her resolve was clear. She knew of the bullying, but never stopped it. Now, it was time to stop it.

Soon she approached the table, shoulders straight and hands on her hips.

"Why don't you leave him alone?" She was so surprised at how confident her voice sounded, but she kept her eyes hard and her mouth in a firm, disapproving line.

"What the fuck did you just say to us, little girl?" Bixslow's deep voice drawled out.

"I'd watch yourself if I was you, bitch." Evergreen snarled out afterwards, but Lucy's eyes were only on Laxus. What he said went and she knew that.

"Doesn't it get boring picking on the same person day after day?" Laxus' mouth curled up into a smirk.

"Why do you care?" His words were deep and held a foreign power behind them making Lucy almost shudder.

"Why does it matter why I care?" She challenged. Laxus slowly made his way over to Lucy, standing tall and terrifying right in front of her, but she held her ground. She wasn't about to deflate to some piss-ant like him.

"You got some big balls for someone who used to be scared of thunderstorms." She glared. Of course he would remember that.

"Looks like I grew up. Too bad you didn't." Laxus chuckled lightly.

"Looks like you have indeed grown up, little miss Heartfilia." He looked up and down her body, staring a little too long at her breasts. She almost punched him.

"Let's go." He suddenly said. The other group members looked a little shocked that they were leaving already, but followed their leader like little lost puppies.

Soon they were out of the cafeteria and Lucy finally let go of the breath she had been holding. She looked over to where Natsu was picking his things up off the floor and she bent down beside him.

"Here, let me help." She said as she started gathering the rumpled papers. She could feel Natsu staring at her but was too nervous to look back at him. "There you go." She said as she handed him the stack she had collected. Finally she looked at him and was so surprised when his expression was not of gratitude, but instead of anger.

"Why did you do that?" He questioned. His voice was deep and rugged and Lucy realized she had never actually heard him speak before. Even though he was obviously angry toward her, she couldn't help but shiver a little at his voice. Honestly, she could hear him talk all day and never get tired of it.

"Why did I do what?" Her voice came out small, nothing compared to how she had talked to Laxus. Natsu stood up, Lucy following after.

"Why did you stand up for me?" His eyes so dark green they were almost black, but Lucy couldn't help but notice the fire that was behind them.

"Why wouldn't I stand up for you?" She didn't really understand his questions. She thought he would be grateful for getting them off his back if only for a little while.

"You don't know me, so why would you?" Lucy raised a brow.

"Just because I don't know you doesn't mean I should do nothing while you're getting bullied." She really did mean that. He gave her a humorless ghost of a smile.

"That's nice. The famous little Princess, Lucy Heartfilia, coming to save rejected Natsu Dragneel." Lucy furrowed her brows.

"Excuse me?"

"Didn't have a good enough reputation? Is that why you had to come to my rescue?" He sneered out. She was so confused by his reaction.

"I'm sorry, did I do something wrong?" She asked. He rolled his eyes and set his things on the table.

"I'm not saying you did anything wrong, I'm just wondering why you have to up your 'good' factor." He held his figures up in air quotations at the word 'good'.

"My 'good' factor?" She questioned. She didn't understand anything he was saying.

"Little miss perfect having to save every worthless piece of trash in this school. I know your reputation." He stepped close to her, his chest almost touching hers. Having never been this close to him before, he was a lot taller than she had imagined and even though he was being such an ass to her, she couldn't help but notice how good he smelled. Like a warm summer evening and freshly chopped grass. It was almost intoxicating. "I know you think you need to be some sort of hero in this school, but I'm not falling for your little trick." Lucy gasped.

"My trick? What the fuck are you talking about?" Lucy was starting to get angry and frustrated. She just saved this poor boy for the time being and he was being so rude to her.

"This little charade you put on to make everyone like you, it's almost disturbing." He chuckled and shook his head. "Sorry, but I'm not fooled like everyone else in this school is."

"I'm not trying to fool anyone, Natsu." She hissed out, clearly annoyed. "I don't like watching others be picked on and ridiculed because they don't have it as good as everyone else."

"Please, you probably have it the best out of everyone at this school." He curled his lip at her. "What you would know about hardship?" Lucy's eyes hardened.

"You know more than anyone else in this world about my hardships. I live in the same building as you do, jackass." She bit out. "Sorry I helped. Won't make that mistake again." And with that she turned around and walked back over to Levy and Cana. Lucy was boiling with rage so much she wanted to hit something.

She had never known someone to be so ungrateful before. How infuriating he was. Just because she seemed to have it great here at school, her home life was awful and lonely. She wasn't privileged, she was cursed. And he knew that.

"What just happened?" Cana asked as she approached their table. Lucy felt tears stinging the back of her eyes, but refused to do anything while in public. Her mother taught her better.

"Nothing interesting." She huffed out as she gathered her things and started violently shoving her school books in her bag. "I don't feel very good. I'm going home, text me homework." And with that she dismissed her friends. Levy and Cana looked at one another, completely confused.

"Should we go after her?" Levy asked. Cana looked over to where Natsu was intently watching Lucy walk out of the cafeteria. As soon as Lucy was out of the building, Natsu gathered his things and walked to the opposite exit.

"I think we should just text her later." Cana said still watching where Natsu had exited. "Something tells me she might be busy."
