You knocked once, and before you could knock again, Scout pulled the door open. He wasn't wearing his uniform any more, he had changed into a grey shirt and simple brown pants, although his hands were still bandaged and he had his tags around his neck.

"Hey..." You giggled slightly.

"Hey... You look... nice..." He said quietly, blushing.

You smiled. "Thanks. You aren't lookin' too bad yourself."

"Thanks. I know a pretty cool place where we can hang out, if ya wanna go. It's not very far..."

"Sure, why not?"

" 'Kay, follow me..."

He led you'd down the hall, and the two of you entered a small door that revealed a staircase, and you began to go up.

Scout held the door open for you as you stepped out, letting the cool night air hit your skin. Observing the area, you realized that you were on the roof. There were crates all around the roof; some without lids, some with lids, and some that looked very broken.

Scout came out directly after you, closing the door behind him.

"None of the others know it's possible to be up here..." He whispered, sitting down on a crate, one of a few lined up to form a sort of 'bench' by the roof's edge.

You sat down next to him. "It's pretty neat up here..."

"Yeah... I come up here a lot..."

You smiled, and the two of you sat in silence for a minute or so.

"Ain't the sky beautiful?" He asked suddenly.

You nodded. "Yeah..."

"Do you know any of the constellations?"

"Yeah, a few." You replied, looking up at the sky. "Yeah, there's Orion, the hunter, Scorpio, the scorpion, Libra, the scales..." You trailed off, suddenly sad.

"Hey, what's the matter?" Scout asked, concerned.

"My dad was a Libra..." You said quietly.

"Oh... Sorry..."

You sniffled softly, determined not to let him see you cry.

"Just... Give me a sec..." You took a deep breath, calming yourself down.

"Hey, it's okay..."

"Sorry... I just miss him, is all..."

Scout hugged you. "I know how you feel..."

You hugged back, grateful that he understood.

When you let go, you sighed. "Thanks..."

"No problem..." He replied, smiling softly.

Suddenly, you heard voices from down below, and looking down you could see Sniper and Spy standing in front of Sniper's van.

Scout looked at you, and you shrugged. Their voices drifted up to you, and you could hear their conversation.

"Hey mate... Now that we're alone, Oi wanted t'thank you again for savin' moi arse on the field again..." Sniper said, voice barely audible.

Spy smiled. "My pleasure, mon amour..." He murmured, leaning casually against the van.

Sniper moved towards him, until their bodies were almost touching. "There's gotta be a way Oi can thank you properly~"

"I can zink of a few ways..." Spy whispered, pulling Sniper into a deep kiss.

Scout's eyes grew wide as he stared at the two men making out.

You quietly took his hand in yours, and he clasped it tightly.

Sniper pulled away, face red. "Oi think we oughta' finish this in moi van, hmm?"

Spy nodded and the two of them disappeared into Sniper's vehicle.

Scout jumped to his feet. "Ho-ly shit. I gotta tell the others!"

You stood up as well. "Scout, don't do anything yet, just hold on. It's not your place to tell anyone, either."

"Whaa! I'd want to know if I was workin' with a couple'a fags!"

"If you were gay, would you want your teammates to know?" You asked.

"No..." He replied, looking down at his feet.

"Exactly. Don't you dare tell anybody, especially them. Got it?"

"But-"

"Scout, c'mon. For me?"

"Fine, I won't tell anybody, but onlybecause you asked me to."

"Thank you..."

"..."

"..."

"We- we'd better go back before anybody notices we were gone..." Scout muttered.

You frowned slightly. "Alright..."

The two of you headed back down into the main hall, and stood in front of Scout's door. "I'll see you tomorrow... We've got a ceasefire all day." Scout said quietly, and you nodded.

"Right."

"Yeah..."

Suddenly you could both hear loud footsteps in the hall.

"Shit! It's ten o'clock! We're gonna be in deep shit if Solly catches us here after lights out!"

"Oh... Goodnight then!" You whispered, hurrying back to your room.

"G'night!" He called quietly, heading into his room.

You made it into your room moments before Soldier came thumping down the hall. "LIGHTS OUT, MAGGOTS!" He shouted. The footsteps came closer, and he knocked on your door.

"Lights out, cupcake!" He said loudly, before his footsteps receded down the hall.

You smiled, humming to yourself as you quickly changed into your pajamas and got ready for bed.

As you lay down, you clicked off the light, letting the darkness wash over you.

You picked up your iPod from where it lay on the nightstand, putting the earbuds into your ears.

You slowly fell asleep, listening to calming music...

xXx

You stood in a white room, completely empty save for nine television screens along the wall.

You'd been in this room many times, always when you dreamed or focused while you were awake.

Each screen had a small name in the corner, most likely the names of each mercenary.

You walked up to the screen labeled 'Michael Williams'. It showed Scout idly bouncing his baseball against the outside base wall.

Reaching up, you tapped the screen, and you were sucked into the dream.

You stood a few feet behind Scout, watching him bounce his ball. Suddenly, the sky grew dark, and it began to rain.

"Shit." He swore, grabbing his ball and running for cover. You followed after him, getting soaked yourself.

He ducked into a small storage building, and collapsed against the wall. You ducked in after him, standing in the doorway.

"Hey." You said quietly, trying not to startle him.

He flinched, looking up. "Oh... Hi. What're you doing here?"

You shrugged. "I dunno, I felt like it. Why the rain?"

Now it was his turn to shrug. "I dunno... It's a dream, anything can happen. Even me imagining you..."

You chuckled. He thought he was dreaming you. He had no idea you were actually in his dream.

"Yeah... Hey, I wanted to tell you, sorry our... Eh, 'date' got ruined..." He added.

"Not your fault at all, man..." You replied with a smiled.

"Hah, look at me, talking to a dream version of you. Not like you'll actually hear it or something..."

You smiled. "You'd be surprised..."

He toyed with his dog tags. "So... Uh... tell me about yourself..."

You sat down on the floor next to him, leaning against the wall.

"Well... I grew up with both parents until I was thirteen, when my dad... he went insane... he killed himself..."

"Oh man, (F/N)..."

"I still blame myself for his death..." You whispered quietly.

"You were thirteen, I'm sure you had nothing to do with your dad's death..." Scout said.

You shrugged, but didn't correct him.

Suddenly, a loud thump sounded in your ears. "Did you hear that?" You asked.

"Hear what?"

"Never mind..." You could see your body start to fade as you began to wake up

"See you in the morning..." He said with a wave and smile, before you faded from view.
