Whew. That was very good, as were the earlier two stories. I'm working my way through your Numb3rs fics and all of them are excellent, easily the best plotted of any I've been able to find on this fandom. It makes me a little sad that you don't seem to be writing in it anymore, but I guess all good things must come to an end (but if you ever come back to the fandom and write more Don fics I will read them!)

Hello old friend! I think I've been enjoying your stories for years and just reread this one.. thought I'd drop a line. I always loved your realism, and insightful characterization. This time reading it I kind of fell in love with your character Paul. Much more interesting than the psychopath Bradly! If you should ever consider another story in this universe, Paul would make a great character.

I've been reading several chapters of your story at a time and not taking the time to comment but, now that I'm done, I have to let you know I enjoyed this very much! I can't say as I'm all that sad about Brad not making it to the final chapter. I had a feeling his escape wasn't going to end well for him. I do feel for bad for Paul, however. He was caught between family loyalty and wanting to put as much distance between himself and Brad as possible. Too bad he was so loyal - Brad (and Dad) really didn't deserve it. In other circumstances, Don and Paul might have ended up friends.

My heart stuttered a little when David was taken hostage too but I'm glad that didn't last long and he was the one to find Don. I always love family moments so the scenes with Charlie and Alan with Don in the hospital are among my favorite parts of the story.

Thanks for writing this and sharing it! It's great to see a Numb3rs story!

Aw I kind of liked him in his boxers. Oh well, since it was David who found him, maybe it's better. As bad as he looked to David anyway it would be better if he wasn't half-naked too. So, Nelson left him with instructions not to call in right away. What's a few minutes anyway. I don't think Scott and Paul will be able to hide from the FBI that long anyhow. Abduction of an agent isn't looked on lightly. And, as much as I feel sorry for Paul, Don is right, he made the choice himself.

Looking forward to Don being welcomed home by Alan and Charlie and getting the peaceful-not being-held-hostage-and worrying-about-being-killed-by-a-revengeful-psycho -any-minute rest that he needs.

Really good job on this, it was exciting, emotional, and scary! Especially with Nelson in such an unstable state! Don is so brave. I feel really sorry for Paul.

What a good ending for a very exciting and excellent Story.
You found a perfect way to show Don's problem to process all this. First not telling Alan and Charlie about the worst. Then the fact, he was stabbed again (I didn't even consider that. Good aspect), or telling Bradford more about of being handcuffed, than the aborted execution. It felt so natural, an excellent work.
Then Robin was there (thank you for that!) and I just loved their banter. The whole scene, actually.
Yes, the Nelsons are still on the run, in spite of everything Paul had to call to salve his conscience, I suppose.
I wonder, sometime in the future, will there be another encounter with them ?

Another great story! I hated to see it come to an end. Even though your other characters are the antagonists of the series; they are so well written as are the main characters, that reading this felt like watching it as an episode on TV! Thanks for sharing.

Extremely satisfying ending. Love all the emotion - both Alan and Charlie's anger at David for not telling them everything, Don struggling with his own emotions as he retold the story of his ordeal to Bradford and during his statement, and finally, his unexpected emotion at Robin's presence.

I was happy, but not that surprised, that Paul and Scott called to check on him. That Nelson family is seriously screwed up. I imagine they managed to elude the FBI for as long as they have because, as well as Scott had Don's abduction planned, he probably made concrete arrangements for his and Paul's disappearance, as well.

This was a very welcomed and extremely enjoyable story. I am always thrilled when you post a new story. Thanks a million for sharing this one with us... but, does this mean there won't be a new Supernatural/Numb3rs crossover for Halloween this year?
