 Dragonjek chapter 1 . 1/26/2016 "Best leave the wife to do the work. This also applies in bed!" Bad idea. That sort of selfishness in bed plays a big role in causing divorces. The romance here feels very forced. *Introducing herself* is some sort of betrayal to Kaji? That's ridiculous, even by the standards of Asuka's ego (attention-loving Asuka, who wants absolutely everyone to know who she is!). Ordinary displays of humanity (hell, the ordinary treatment of a prisoner!) are taken as romantic cues. It all seems artificial and rushed. Gendo here doesn't come off as cold and uncaring-more actively malicious and stupid. They're going to get Unit-02 brought over, and they need Asuka to pilot that. Without Shinji, Unit-01 isn't going to be very effective and would be a hindrance in battling Angels. He's effectively removing an entire Eva from the fighting force. Additionally, how can he "have faith" that Asuka will somehow make an Eva that can't move suddenly move? That's ridiculous and unfounded. Furthermore, if the pain is going to be so awful it would put Shinji into a coma, transferring all of that pain back to Asuka all at once would be nearly as crippling! And rather than suffering from one wound at a time, she'd feel all of them at once. Splitting the pain between them is more sustainable, lessens the fear of pain, *and* lets Asuka keep her instincts. The only way I can see see Gendo actually making such a terrible decision is if he's trying to force Unit-01 into going berserk. |

| JDH1080 chapter 1 . 9/12/2013 Pretty interesting. Though Asuka feels a little out of character near the end. I understand that her meeting and intereaction with Shinji is much different than in canon, and so far she's recevied a better impression of him, but she just feels a little too nice and mushy than she usually is. But either way this is still a pretty good read. Hope you continue with it. |
