Easily the best Korra/Geass fusion fic I've read. Such a shame you abandoned it.

This is nice

So, I added this fic to my favorites some time ago, and I promised myself I would read it. Well, I actually forgot about it and found it again recently. I'm not often one to read FanFiction, but when I do, I rarely find a story this enthralling. Please write more in the future, I look forward to seeing where this story goes. Don't leave us hanging! This stark realism you bring to the world of Avatar, along with the cast of Code Geass is a very eye opening tale. That, coupled with the excellent plot makes this story one of the greatest ones I've read, whereas some people would simply take the story from Code Geass and copy/paste it into Avatar, you made it your own in a very good way. Also, I absolutely loved that I managed to pick up on the similarities between Mother Chiyo and Flemeth from Dragon Age before you compared them, as DA is one of my favorite games ever. Bravo to this wonderful fanfic, and I hope that some day soon you return to continue it.

Full disclosure, I don't read the side stories, I just want to read the actual plot. Not asking you to stop, I'm sure plenty of your readers enjoy them, just thought I'd mention it.

That said, I'm loving the story and the direction it's heading in, and I can't wait for the next update to come along! Seriously, when the hell can I expect that to pop up? If you have any time frame at all, please let me know...unless you died at some point between posting this chapter and the present...if that's the case then I can't really expect a reply, can I?

Awesome couple of chapters, I was really surprised at how different it was from the show regarding Amon taking away bending...or I Haagen an even worse memory than I thought...either way, nice twist, can't wait to see where it goes! Keep up the good work!

Another great chapter, looking forward to the next one! I've never seen an airbender fly without a glider now that I think about it (avatar state doesn't count) so that could be something Anguta could claim as his own, and maybe force-choke or extinguishing fire with a hand gesture? Something, that just seems like something Lelouche would come up with given his intelligence and thought process. (Force-choke is basically just a drastic increase in air pressure around ones throat in this case, extinguishing flames accomplished via vacuum.)

Another great chapter, though I noticed a few things while reading. The most common thing I noticed was using THEN and THAN in the wrong places in sentences, nothing to big but something I took notice of. There were a few other minor details that I can't quite recall, but their probably unimportant.

I am very interested to see where this will go, and I think you did a fairly good job of capturing Lelouche's character so far. I have to admit, it's been awhile since I've seen the Avatar shows, so I can't judge Korra to accurately, but I'd say close enough.

Also, I thought the bulk of the white lotus, including their council member, were nonbenders, but I could be wrong on that.

And yeah, it's wierd they had blimps, fighter planes, robot suits, cars, etc before they had guns. Especially when they had torpedoes during the hundred year war during Aang's time (see eclipse invasion). Honestly, it makes more sense this way, guns being illegal instead of nonexistent.

All in all, good so far, keep it up!

Good story so far. If only you had used some form of bending to reach a similar effect as geass, to fit better with the world, would have been even better. But, let's see what happens next first.

This story, the Element of Freedom, is nothing short of magnificent and awe-inspiring! Oh, just from the first few passages, I knew that this would be a true delight and thrill to read. Imagine as my impression turned out to not only be well-founded, but also far too small! Amon is no longer the only masked charismatic revolutionary that wields both a rare form of bending and an incredible power. A glorious adventure awaits Republic City!

After all these years, the Avatar has returned to us at long last! It is a sign that heralds the change to come. Just as the seasons come and go, so too do our troubles. War and discrimination. The world has not changed yet. People still suffer. Avatar Korra shall not be along in her quest for justice, fairness and freedom. Soon, Zero shall walk beside her as well in the pursuit for change. Courage may fail you, but friends never will. Korra... always remember that the Spirit World, your past lives, your friends, your brother and Zero, and all four elements stand at your side, for you... are the Avatar.

Some say that Zero's assault against the police at Port Yue was an act of terrorism and murder of officers of the law, but this is not true. Saikhan forfeited his right as an agent of justice the moment he ordered the deaths of dozens of innocent lives during an illegal operation. It was an atrocity against human nature, for the act itself was inhuman. At that moment, he became a criminal and murderer with a badge. Abandoning your duty to justice is never justifiable by reason. If you chose to take up the responsibility of the law, then you choose to see the matter through to the end. Broken vows can never be abided. You must still follow the duty you have pledged your loyalty to, for what would you be if you were to abandon you word and honor? Loyalty is not easily given, and so is sacred. That is why traitors are so scorned, and why no tears are shed at their deaths. Justice will always deliver its judgement upon those who abuse their power and oppress the weak, every last one of them without exception... and Zero is it's instrument. "When injustice becomes law, rebellion becomes duty."

However, Amon's own quest to exterminate bending will not change anything, only the balance of who stands on which side. It would be the non-benders who would become the oppressors. Harsh treatments, burning at the stake, inquisitions, concentration camps... they will soon transform into Nazis. Just like the Jews, benders would be hunted down, tortured and then executed on a mass scale. They would be treated without human rights. Instead, benders would be seen as LESS than human, abominations, freaks of nature. In time, Amon's teachings would see his people change into the very monsters he thinks he is protecting the world from.

It is people like this that Zero shall stand and fight against, to protect the innocent from. So long as the strong oppress the weak, Zero and the Black Knights shall always remain. Love is what binds the Black Knights together to protect the weak and innocent; love of people, of culture and of the world. As long as we fight to preserve that which inspires hope, then we shall always have the support of the people. There will be challenge... and we will know fear. But we will overcome, we will survive, and answer corruption with justice! In former enemies, we must find allies! We will do as we must! Freedom cannot be handed to the faithless. Our legacy cannot be lost to villains! You must always remember this, Korra and Anguta, for you must bury the past to face the future! Anguta and Korra now stand amongst the greatest... and fight to defend the weakest. And as the Equalists and the corrupt continue to seize control of the people, the Avatar and Zero are willing to suffer any hardship to win freedom for this land and justice for all. It is time for the legacy of both the Avatar and the Black Knights to return... and for the free people of the world to rise with them.

Remember your teachings and ideals, Anguta. You learned to live free and stand strong... and you have taken them to heart. Once it was only your little sister who was to lead valiant men with bold hearts, to rally others to the fight for fairness, justice and freedom. Now that role of hers, the mantle of leadership, has been shared with you. Once you were but a mere gambler, now your courage terrifies an Empire. You have the bending power from a lost nation and the Geass to command any and all, a combination that will change Republic City and the world itself. Equalists and corrupt men now curse your name, for you defy them by living free. Many of the people will not live to see the new world you and your new friends are shaping, but they know it will be a better one. The world may soon be paralyzed with fear, and thus will need symbols of hope to remind them that they may always believe that they can still do something. As Zero, you will become one of those symbols. In our darkest hour, your band of heroes will be fighting for our freedom and for our right to exist, hope and love. You will not be in this fight alone. This bond that now ties you together is something that Voldemort will never understand. It's more powerful than any weapon, and it can never be taken or destroyed. When the enemy comes, you will face them together, and together you WILL defeat them!

For we who follow Zero, we are the eyes of the night, the silence within the wind. We are the the shield that guards the innocent and the blade that vanquishes the proud and the wicked. No matter what name we may carry, our purpose will always remain. We stand with those without any weapons to wield, regardless of whether they be benders or not. As it always has been and always shall be, we shall work in the dark to serve the light. We will not repudiate battle on a fair and level field, but neither will we tolerate a one-sided attack on the weak by the strong. As always, the only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to BE killed! Wherever oppressors abuse their power by attacking those who are innocent, we shall appear to face them no matter how mighty or formidable our foe may be! We must face all doubt! We must break the strong who would destroy us and overcome the impossible! We must fight against any and all! We must and we will... for we are the Black Knights!

The torch of leadership has been passed to the next generation to finish what was started before! Fear not Korra and Anguta, for you shall be guided in ways you could never imagine. Stand tall, stand strong and stand together!

You do not choose your destiny, it chooses you. And those that knew you before Fate took you by the hand cannot understand the depth of the changes inside. They cannot fathom how much you stand to lose in failure... that you are now an instrument of flawless Design. And all of life may hang in the balance. The hero learns quickly who can comprehend and who merely stands in your way. We are all at our cores the sum of our fears. To face destiny we must, inevitably, face those fears, and conquer them... whether they come from the familiar or the unknown. Dark skies are rising over the horizon and the enemy is closer than you think. Every may is mortal and every life comes to an end. The time for battle amongst great champions of causes is fast approaching. This is only the beginning. You know your path, now follow it!

There is simply so much potential in this story! A world of discovery has opened, and with it heralds a confusion of elements. The first snowfall of impossible change. Old lives undone, left behind. Strange faces, made familiar. New nightmares, to challenge sleep. New friends, to feel safe with. Only then comes control, the need to impose order unto chaos, through determination, through study, through struggle. All in defiance of a thundering truth. The Avatar and Zero have come, and the earth shudders underfoot!

ZGW... shall we continue?

An interesting thing to note, is that the eugenics at play here is completely useless. Acourding to the makers of Avatar, bending is a spiritual phenomenon, not genetic. The more spiritual a nation, the more benders. Interesting, huh?
