Reviews for Boats and Birds |

![]() ![]() ![]() I was on the fence for a while about whether or not to review this, partially because it's five years old and partially because these sort of vignette-style stories are just not really my *thing*, but there's two factors that I think deserve to be recognized. The first is that you've managed to buck the really quite unsettling trend these stories have of making Garrus (and turians in general) something barely above animals, with razor-sharp talons and insanely painful mating practices and heat cycles and all sorts of other weird stuff. Garrus actually sounds like a civilized being in this, and I think that's something that deserves to be recognized and applauded wherever it is found- I just wish it wasn't so rare. The second is that you've actually managed to maintain the Garrus-Shepard... I guess you could call it "comrades with benefits" dynamic that made the ME2 romance so compelling. Not only that, but you've managed to integrate elements of the ME3 plot into it without *harming* it, when in my personal opinion the relationship as portrayed in that game was a pale shadow of what we saw in 2. Overall I'd say this was well-written and generally just well-put-together, even though (like I said) I typically prefer stories that more closely follow the military science fiction side of ME. So I guess you can consider it good enough to have crossover appeal. |
![]() ![]() There must be a chapter dedicated to them listening what they said |
![]() ![]() ![]() Just read through this in one chunk - your custom Shepard is great! i always enjoy reading peoples different shepard backstories, and yours is so wonderfully fleshed out. anc the way you write the shakarian romance is just ... Great. Superlative. I loved it! Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be reading the rest of your stuff! |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is beautifully written. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I can just see him in front of my minds eye, you painted him perfectly. I especially like how the armor makes him bulkier than he is, I always thought so too. I love these snippets. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I would love to see his reaction to the words she said. And hers for his. I think it would be cute. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This was super sweet. I had fun putting the lines through Google Translate, too, and they made me smile. :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Adding to my comment elsewhere, I have no more idea what Shepard was saying than Garrus does, which is kind of neat. :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Haha, I love seeing figures from Shepard's past, especially friendly ones! Great job with this little scene. It left me wanting more. :D |
![]() ![]() ![]() Taunting and tantalizing at the same time. Nicely done. |
![]() ![]() ![]() A lovely ending to a great collection of fics! Fluffy Shakarian is always a good thing in my book, hehe. Good luck on the MEBigBang fic, and I do hope you'll post it here when you're done, because I for one would like to read it! ;) |
![]() ![]() ![]() This chapter was sweet, sexy, and absolutely perfect. The others have been wonderful too; I love your eye for detail and your ear for their voices! |
![]() ![]() ![]() All of these chapters are fab. Thank you for marking the ones inspired by ME3. I haven't played it yet and since I don't want to get spoilers, I did skip them. : / Once I've played the game though you bet I'll be reading them. |
![]() ![]() ![]() aww, totally cute! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I like it, it a lovely bit of fluff. |
