Another great piece from you! I loved your observation of Kate lying to Josh partly because she can't face the truth, how "time speeds up without her permission," and how she feels guilty for not calling him and she realizes she did the same thing to him as he did last year. I also went "aww" when her heart races when she sees him. You don't overstate it; the way you present it is so simple and significant.

The last line was just perfect.

And you need to post up the rest of your fics, ASAP.
