sugoiauriga chapter 1 . 9/7/2015
Poland-Austria is like the totally revolutionary fashion police! this writing is hot and i swear i know that poland is probably the most badass character of the series.. i firmly believe that prussia and him come from the same lineage because badassery comes in many forms :D i really like your austria (and friends). thanks for this story man.
Heuress chapter 1 . 11/2/2014
This was stunning- there are simply no words that can possibly describe this work of art. It was really interesting to read and now I suddenly feel like reading more Austria/Poland stories.
Pho chapter 1 . 9/28/2013
Wow, that was amazing. Hilarious and dark at the same time. Great job!
BelaLorelei chapter 1 . 11/4/2012
In all honesty, I have re-read your fic at least five times. And each time, I cannot help but to cry a little. First, I love the way you portray Poland here. The way he speaks is so refreshing, and his attitude is fascinating. And Austria, as both one of my favorite nations historically and a Hetalia character... Well, I love him here too. I also love the title, seeing the reference to fate and how they spun the thread of life was clever, especially seeing how they made the dress. And your style of writing... It was so flighty for such a dark theme. I'm Jewish myself, and have family that died in those camps. Sorry, I digressed a bit; Anyway, I think you could have put a little more emotion into the surroundings, but this was perfect. Also, I love this line half to death: "You play the piano; I cross-dress. We all have our ways of coping." And the escape was really epic, as well as the final part. Overall and completely, excellent work!

yes

YES

having been to mauthausan myself (which happens to be fucking terrifying even if it's empty) and having family history with D Day and being totally fed up with the way everybody invades poland - this totally made my entire life.
12382yhauisbfd8uwhe80aih chapter 1 . 1/11/2012
Great story only thing I have too say about it is that I don't think you could actually live through the gas chamber things (unless that part was supposed too be a joke?) but other wise pretty good story love the dress idea.
violonforte chapter 1 . 11/5/2011
I LOVE POLAND. And I love Poland-Austria interactions in WWII camps. And while we're on topic, would you know if there were really interactions between Austrians and Poles (in context with this fic) in POW camps?

And that exit? FTW BABY!

I love your interpretation of Poland. Just perfect. _
Catching Tomorrow chapter 1 . 9/30/2011
I read this on my iPhone on a really long, boring train ride, and you made me go from apathetically skim-reading whatever I could find to nearly crying.

The sheer amount of emotion in this is incredible, especially since the tone is so light (well, relatively light). Your Austria is perfect, but Poland just shines... I've always loved Poland but I think this has catapulted him up to the coveted level of Favourite Character. The fact that he's been through so much but can still be so cheerful is amazing, especially how you write it. Turning an Auschwitz uniform into a pretty dress is just the absolute epitome of that and it practically chokes me up because it's so sad and so perfect and so emotional and ARGH I DON'T EVEN WANT TO MAKE SENSE ANY MORE YOU WIN EVERYTHING.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go and find some semblance of composure so I can continue on with my life without randomly bursting into tears and telling everyone how awesome Poland is.
iamthewordshaker chapter 1 . 8/5/2011
I don't know why I haven't reviewed this yet because this is, without a doubt, one of my favorite Hetalia fics. One, I love how you portrayed Poland. And Austria. And the fact that Austria is in a concentration camp with Poland. And this line: "Hardee-fucking-har, pansy-ass. You know, I might wear dresses, but at least I don't mind getting mud on the skirt." Because it's amazing. I love this so, so much.
River Jaeger chapter 1 . 7/10/2011
I love this...especially the Poland/Austria interaction
heygodcomplex chapter 1 . 3/13/2011
hell yeah. beautiful poland, this is. he is, like, the manliest, deepest, most incredible incredible character in hetalia and everyone is just in denial. and i just love the humor here, as dark as it is. this was so... casual, but incredibly deep characterization and you used a lot less 'like's for poland's dialogue. (actually, i just love your dialogue in general.)

[fav's to eternity and back]
Alix Cohen chapter 1 . 1/22/2011
So. I had gotten sick of Holocaust stories, but this has made my evening. Not only is it uplifting, but it's sympathetic to Poland, which I find refreshing.
obvious things are obvious chapter 1 . 12/18/2010
i really love it. i like how you portrayed austria and poland. i was really touched by this fic.

poland is a total epic win for me. he is not a pansy and will never be one. he is awesome that he lived through all the shiz that he had to go through and survived. and i like it when he is paired up with lithuania. but that's besides the point.

anyway, good job on this fic! well done!
070 chapter 1 . 11/16/2010
I... am a little shocked by how much I like this fic XD I mean, yeah, it's definitely a darker humor but, oh, gosh, I loved it so much. Parts of it reminded me of that Benigni movie, Life is Beautiful, except.. well, darker. I think. XD

First off: YOUR POLAND IS AWESOME. He totally deserves more screen-time. He's just. SO GREAT. The way he's rebellious but casual about it and snarky and I WANT HIM TO BE MY BEST FRIEND, RIGHT NOW. And just - the entire dress-making scene. It was. Urgh. Words cannot express the awesomeness of this piece.

And of course, me being the A/H shipper I am - gotta love those small moments. When Poland made that crack about Hungary leaving Austria and just the way Austria completely shut down... agh. And even at the end. These two need a happy ending already XD

OH! I can't believe I almost forgot - their escape! When Austria just went up there and pistol-whipped that guy RIGHT IN THE FACE... I cheered. Honestly, I did.

I'm ridiculously happy now. XD
Molly chapter 1 . 10/29/2010
I just wanted to say thank for writing a Poland who speaks like a valley girl without saying the word "like" every three words. It was very refreshing.

You're an excellent writer and I really enjoy your stories. You show a lot of talent and potential. Keep up the excellent work.
