Random Ruth chapter 1 . 2/26/2014
I can't imagine how bad it must be for Sam to have a bad association with cookies. Cookies are amazing! Great story as always. I look forward to whatever you post next. This has been fun! :)

sweet :)
Freya922 chapter 1 . 6/30/2013
This was so sweetly sad; makes me hurt for Season 1 Sam all over again. The poor soul. And I love how Dean leaves his comfort zone to provide support!
The Not-So It Girl chapter 1 . 6/29/2013
This is the second time I've read this story, and I still love it. Good job! :)

"Sounds like my kind of girl,"
"No, mine."

Congratulations, you just tore my soul into pieces. Beautiful story :).

sam's folly chapter 1 . 4/12/2012
I love the boys' relationship in that first season, and this little vignette captures it beautifully!
ccase13 chapter 1 . 1/31/2012
Eventually Sam will love scratch made choclate chip cookies because they remind him of Jessica. When my husband first died both me and our neighbor who spent so much time with us cried at the Little Debbie snack cake displays in grocery stores but after a few years we both buy those snacks and remember.
sayrae3times chapter 1 . 8/3/2010
LOL, I had to laugh at the "Rest my eyes" because my dad used to say that to me all the time when I was little. And "So Dean chose door number three. Change the subject" - ah, the good 'ol Winchester code! Avoid it and it will just go away.

I liked this one in particular because Dean's conversation with Sam was so real. Unfortunately, I've read some where the conversations are so off that I'm shaking my going, "He wouldn't say that." I've lost people before in my life and there really are little things that you forget about until they're right there in front of your face and all of a sudden it's like, "Hello! Open the floodgates!" And on the flip side, I've been in the position where you have to watch what you say or do in order to avoid bringing pain to someone close to you. To make a long story short, a very well rounded, very real piece of work you've brought to the table. Excellent job!
MRitz chapter 1 . 5/4/2010
Another very good story to read. Man, I love latte too. Yes, it's kinda girly but it tastes like heaven. Aww, Sam still loves Jessica and her memories are only possessions left for him. Dean's a very good big brother, love them both so much.

Love it,
Ritu.
LF7070 chapter 1 . 3/27/2010
I really love this! :) This is really good. And you stayed in character even though this was one of those dreaded 'chick flick' moments that Dean hates so much. And I love that this was something the show completely misses we don't really see how Sam deals with Jessicas death. So thank you.

amyblair chapter 1 . 2/16/2010
You already have my notes on this one, but I wanted to let you know that I think this was a great job. The touch at the end really sealed the deal. The boys were spot on for Season One. I am not sure this time how either would react. We just lost Ellen and Jo and it's been difficult, but buried. Hopefully these brothers will figure out a way to get their feelings out.

I loved Dean getting the latte for Sam, then teasing him about it - calling it girly - and then being the big brother that Sam needed. And Sam seeing that cookie and not wanting to make a big deal about it, but just not being able to help himself, either.

Nicely done, M.
Menthol Pixie chapter 1 . 2/15/2010
I thought that was great! The boys were so in character and Dean was perfect trying to help Sam! The talk about Jess being good at baking was so funny - I laughed out loud.

I loved the way you dealt with Sam's grief. It wasn't too much or too little, it was just perfect.

Brilliant look inside Dean's head. I loved his reconsideration of chick flick moments and Smurfs at the end.

Great work!

Scullspeare chapter 1 . 2/7/2010
After a weekend battling technology – gr – reading this was a great way to de-stress. Lovely story.

We’ve been given so little on screen about Sam dealing with Jessica’s death and what he told Dean about their relationship, it’s wonderful to get a little glimpse into it here. Loved seeing the softer side of Dean, too – couched with trademark snark – that he’s so good at hiding from most of the world.

And I would pay good money to see Dean Winchester in a coffee shop ordering a latte with flavoured syrup. Hee. That image is golden. Oh he’d do it for Sam, no question, but there would be all the awesome complaining before, during and after!

“Dean dumped the coffees, take out bag and key card onto the table before reaching over and slapping the computer closed with the palm of his hand…” Now THAT is such a Dean thing to do. *g*

You captured the boys beautifully. It was a chick-flick moment, but completely in character. Awesome.

Cheers, Sculls
