Just found this tonight. Don't know how I've missed it for so long but I wanted to tell you that I've throughly enjoyed this story. The characters and dialogue were very spot on cannon! Thank you for that. :-) The descriptions of Newkirk being pulled back and forth to the hospital, I could imagine just what he was experiencing. Awesome job! :D

Can't believe it's been over three years since I first read this. What strikes me now is your deft weaving of the supernatural with a murder mystery (complete with femme fatale and morally ambiguous antagonist!) and how it kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. And yet very HH-like touches of humor were to be seen as well, with all the characters we know and love fully realized (even though Newkirk spends most of the story in an out-of-the-body state).

Very enjoyable, and it definitely stands up to a second reading years later! I'd say you've set the standard very high indeed on this site...in fact, your stories should be recommended reading for every aspiring fanfic author.

I've perused this story before, but I don't think I ever read it in full. I'm halfway through now and I am really enjoying this well-paced, tense ghost story. The comments from Newkrk are so witty, and I liked this chapter because of the way Newkirk made his presence known.

Thanks for showing us a positive side to the mad Major. I knew he couldn't be ALL bad! Actually, in this story Hochstetter reminds me a bit of Inspector Javert from Les Miserables.

Not quite my kind of story - not too keen on this kind of supernatural stuff - but good enough anyway to keep me reading. And interested.
