Just a bit of a low estimate there - go see Inferno, or the E-Space trilogy, both of which also deal with alternate universes. The Old Series is worth attention, you know.

Theres no real need for you to bring the TV show aspect of it into this story. It just makes it all a bit cliche. And your protagonist is so cocky, I'd love to see her try to behead a dalek and get her proverbial ass handed to her.
