This one hurts. It's beautiful, and Luke is amazing, but you can totally feel Lorelai's pain, and subsequently, Luke's pain. It is good to see Lorelai go through this though, because they just seemed to ignore the pain she should be feeling on the show. Chris was a distraction, as your story makes clear. Another excellent fic from you.

Ooh, I love the idea that Lorelai was so much in denial in the-year-we-don't-talk-about that she actually managed to avoid the entire process of grieving over the end of her relationship with Luke. I feel really bad for Elena, even though I'm happy for L&L.

I was thinking about this story today and went on a desperate search to find it. It's a testament to how real the characters are and how well you wrote it that it popped in my head and refused to leave until I re-read it. Such a good story and even though it's 12 years old, it's still worth reading again and again.

It is painful but sweet, seems as though it could be real with these characters, thanks for the good ending.

I know this i was published 10yrs ago. Not sure if you're still wedding fanfiic for this or possibly some other fandom. Always, love your stories, and very much enjoyed this one. But I still don't get or appreciate your aversion to chapters. Not everybody has hours on end to sit and read stories. Chapters make convenient stopping points. TV with your stories I'm have b to scroll forever. I think next time I'm going to copy and paste the whole s story into pages and make my own chapters or something.

I'm rekindling my love for Luke and Lorelai by reading fanfiction written years ago, so this review is coming late. But this story is incredible. The premise is wonderful and the writing is just fantastic. You've done an amazing job.
I absolutely adore all of your stories. I hope that when Netflix does the four movie reboot, you find some more inspiration. If not, that's ok too. I'll keep reading these over and over. I don't think it'll ever get old.

I just...I absolutely loved this story. I really enjoyed exploring this. Yes Luke screwed up but so,many times I read stories where it was all his fault and that really ticks me off. Or how the second Lorelai wants to get back together he's just ready and waiting like Sookie assumed at the start. I don't want to say Lorelai deserved to get a taste of her own medicine because that's not it but I feel like it was important for her to understand what Luke had gone through when she got together with Chrostopher. Even then it's not the same because Elana wasn't someone he had this huge history with and Luke made a point to not be all relationshippy in front of Lorelai. I always wanted to see that talk between Luke and Lorelai, just about how much that had to have hurt so soon after they broke up for her to sleep with, and then move in with and marry Christopher. To be made to feel like you were just a placeholder for the guy she really wanted. And on the show the only person you really saw supporting Luke was Liz so Lorelai asking Sookie if she had ever checked on Luke when She was with Christopher was nice. Like I said it was good for her to gain some perspective on what Luke had gone through. I loved how this story of them grieving for the past and learning from it to find a new better place. Great job!

Sorry, this time you don't get a commentary on elements of your writing. I'm in the group that gets so distracted by the horrifying changes to L and L's characters in S6 and S7 that many of the fanfic can't even be read.
Elena was a nice addition. Tastefully done.
