Reviews for Old Soldiers Never Die
Guest chapter 1 . 6/10
This is so ridiculous.
Halivor chapter 24 . 6/8
You do know that the Hakka is from New Zealand right? It’s a Maori thing. It’s not Australian.
Halivor chapter 21 . 6/7
Love the disclaimers, hilarious
Halivor chapter 18 . 6/7
Also great fic
Halivor chapter 18 . 6/7
...You do know that Canada isn’t part of the uk, yeah?
hallowedmarks chapter 26 . 5/21
I know this fic is super old (wow.. completed in 2007!) but I can honestly say this is one of the most enjoyable hp fics I have ever read. I laughed in parts so hard that I cried. It was so good!
Thank you so much for writing it and posting it up.
hallowedmarks chapter 7 . 5/21
I was gonna hold off to the end to leave a review but holy balls! That Moody plot twist! I'd have never seen that coming! Hell yeah!
Hatata chapter 17 . 5/18
Never in my life have I wished more for a full story about OCs... McLain and the girl guides might be my favourite part of this story. My ribs were not prepared for this workout.

*grins*
Given Harry's age, I figure he can get away with having a girlfriend instead of a wife for a while, and really, if he hasn't got anyone officially why not invite his Best Girl Friend, the person he'd go to ask first if he needed to marry immediately no matter his preferences? The person he'd be most willing to trust like that, no questions asked? It may not be that kind of love, not yet, but successful marriages depend more on comfort and friendship and trust than pure passion, and they /are/ fairly young to be making life-altering legal decisions if they don't have to yet.
Plus Smythe will take care of harassing any of his men that push too much, to defend his lovely granddaughter's honor and right to choose, as long as he's sure she's happy with her current arrangement with the Major and he still trusts them about it.
ChaoticInscriber chapter 3 . 5/4
I'd probably find that kind of discussion (about the details of the uniforms) interesting, see what they think about the context of where they're actually operating (for now) and how it affects their decisions. But I can see how other people might not be as interested in the topic, sadly.
Yeah, they can probably just get away with fudging a kid up to about a Major with all the additional obfuscation they're doing for the magic bits anyway, especially since Harry is so amenable to learning from his elders in this case and so won't let it go to his head too badly (not too soon, at any rate, too much to do). Just don't tell anybody not read in on clearance for the full situation that he's actually the Major on the paperwork and not a trainee. He's also on the small side because his growth may have been a bit stunted but otherwise has certain hints of maturity a lot of his peers might lack, so they may be able to claim he's just short and very Baby-faced (which I can attest from experience is So Much Worse when you are actually only barely an adult as opposed to still-looking-like-one and need to be recognized as your actual age, and being short doesn't help) for a while until he's grown some. So much of everything to do with him is going to be classified out the wazoo anyway, they can easily hide his legal age among it for long enough to get him decent seasoning and actual years.
Guest chapter 26 . 5/2
Excellent! I've read quite a few of your stories but liked this the best. Being former military, I could understand the tactics Harry used, and I have also read many books by Kipling; have you read 'Stalky&Co'? Your ending reminded me of the end of that. Anyway, hope you keep writing. You are great!
lovedalton chapter 26 . 4/13
sequel
lemon-rind chapter 26 . 4/1
I think this is the first time I've seen a story like this, and I was incredibly interested to see where it went. Good job!
lemon-rind chapter 5 . 4/1
Nice job!5
Matt chapter 23 . 3/27
Alright this has been bugging me for a while now. You keep misspelling Lieutenant! Which is pronounced Leftenant in Britain anyway. So one or the other would have been fine, but your horrible misspelling just grates every time I read it.
