Heh. From what I've been able to find out, Riddick -was- in the military for a period during the Wailing Wars. However, at some point his entire unit- 500 or so men- got completely wiped out by something. Except, of course, for Riddick. The higher-ups needed a scapegoat, so they pinned the deaths of his battle-buddies on Riddick and shipped him off to Slam. Voila, instant mass-murderer. *rolls eyes at stupid military types*

I read this awhile ago, then "lost" it before I had time to review (AKA "she forgot the title"). I'm glad I found it again. Won't lose it this time because I've added it to my favorites :o).

Love the POV, and I always like stories where Riddick wasn't always bad. Don't worry about "official". When you get right down to it, we only know three things about his past; He was rescued as an infant from a trash can by a liquor store (Pitch Black) during the Necromonger attack on Furya (TCoR); He was educated in the penal system (TCoR); and he served as an Elite Company Ranger (Pitch Black book). That leaves ALOT of space for stories like yours! Keep writing!
