The "babe" thing is killing me.

I can just see Hermione saying "No Harry, we can't do this. You keep calling me 'babe', and it's just so demeaning, patronizing, and misogynistic. I hate that term, Harry. Whether you intend it, or not. Go sleep on the couch. Wank all you want out there. you can call the couch pillows-'babe'.
'Babe' is what arseholes call the stripper while they're trying to slip the girl a couple of ones , instead of the twenty they owe for the 'private dance', just before the bouncer takes them outside and 'splains it to 'em'.
'Babe' to me, is like the verbal equivalent of the High school dude no one his own age wants to date, walking around the mall or wherever, with his hand clasped around the back of some freshmen girls neck, and he's steering her around each turn, like- "look at my fine bitch", when he's already threatened her with 'another' beating if she doesn't go where- and do what- he says. She's only just barely NOT sobbing, and wondering how she' going to ever get out of the situation.
THAT is what calling any woman 'babe' sounds like to me.

(fifteen years ago, during my mid life crisis, i spent five years in the night club and strip club business, bouncing, bartending, and managing, including two Very high end Gentlemen's clubs. Forty to fifty of the hottest girls you've ever seen, and 150 rednecks or college punks that each thought the rules were NOT made for them. They were special.
Luckily, I look a LOT more bad-ass than I actually am. (I think it was the bald head with the suit and tie). One guy literally ran from the bar apologizing, and throwing money on the floor for the dancer he had offended) What did he think I was gonna' do?

I Really enjoyed their banter, Harry shifting into the sexy caveman and him being good in bed as a first time, makes sense. To me it does. I'm adding this to my favorites list.
