Ahhhh... Their very first kiss! Long awaited, but so worth waiting for! Cleaning the air in regards to Evgeni Nikiforov! The man REALLY needs to get out of his son's life. Viktor and Yuuri will be great together, if they stand united, they can beat him at his own game! Play along, make him think what he wants to think. Then pull the rug out from under his old ASS!

It slow, but the cold snowy day has at least given them a place to start! Huddled up together, with nowhere to go on a snow Saturday. That's the BEST way to get to know someone. I like the pace their going. The SHOULD use the time they have to know each other. Viktor and Yuuri need to just be themselves.

I am hugely enjoying the slow development of their relationship and hope to see more in the future. I also want to see some real conflict between Victor's parents and Yuri, where she stands up for herself and her husband.

I still haven’t watched the show (why are there not more hours in the day?) but I’ve been wanting to read this so I just said oh what the hell, it’s an AU ;-)
And as expected, your descriptions and the character interactions are amazing and it doesn’t even matter I haven’t seen the show!
I feel so bad for Victor and how controlling his father is. It can’t be easy resigning oneself to the idea that your life is not really yours, especially when it comes to something like a spouse. His composure when they dropped that bomb on his was kind of amazing…I would have exploded. His parents seem pretty awful…
I liked the contrast Victor noticed between his parents and Yuri’s parents, and I have to wonder if that’s going to resurface or come into play again in the future. I did feel bad for Yuri though, with Victor’s assessment of her as “easily forgotten”. I’m looking forward to seeing how that changes.
Holy cow going through an entire ceremony in a foreign language without a translator? Poor Victor! I would’ve been SO anxious. But I loved the wedding ceremony — the description was so lovely and vivid and I really liked how it was from the POV of someone who had no clue wtf was going on :-) You definitely get a sense of the whirlwind Victor and Yuri have been caught up in in this chapter.
And oh man, then the wedding night scene. It was so awkward and uncomfortable, almost painfully so, but that was so RIGHT for the circumstances. I can’t tell you how much I appreciated it — Victor realizing this wasn’t how he wanted it, his anger at how he’d been robbed, Yuri’s obvious anxiety and that comment about disappointment hit so hard. My heart is just breaking for them (but of course I’m looking forward to seeing how you remedy the situation between them lol)
I loved the line “Duty had become the padlock of his cage” — so perfect! And I might not be heir to a massive fortune or family business like Victor, but boy oh boy can I relate to the whole avoiding conflict because of the inevitable defeat.
I’m happy for Victor seeing possibilities for his future, but damn…he can be a little harsh (though it makes perfect sense). I flinched with Yuri when he made the comment about money needing to be made for their union to be worth it.
I found it interesting Yuri wasn’t comfortable with his praise about skating…I have to wonder if it’s praise in general or in regards to figure skating.
I like that she is endearing herself to him with her cooking…you know the old saying! LOL :-)
AHHHH I LOVED the scene in the dance studio. SO sweet (if a little sad that she thought he would be mad) and her being annoyed at learning Russian cracked me up.
It may take me a little while to get completely caught up but I love this story so much! It is so beautifully written!

So far this is becoming a very sweet story.

The struggles of having to be forced into doing things against your will. It's terrifying when making your own decisions means to rebel against family. Please continue this story. I'm looking forward to reading more.
