Shouldn't Hermione and Blaise be granted a potions mastery given all her work before classes even resumed? These "students" seem more like The Ministry than...students.

I get that you wanted to ramp up the pace, but doing so by skipping vital information isn't a great idea. The whole scene about Flume and marketing the product and hiring someone else? Wait...what? More words there would have been a tremendous help because in the end it was just a confusing garble. And Hermione and Severus went from vague conversation to swapping bodily fluids with pretty much no detail as to how their relationship progressed.

There's a huge difference between leaving mysteries for the reader to solve as they read and skipping over facts that should have been written to the point that the story becomes disjointed and annoying.
