I'm speechless, this was...wonderfully horrific! That sounds like a contradiction but I don't know how else to frame it. Your premise of Morgoth totally stripping Mairon apart and rebuilding him is so chilling, and explains everything. Whew!

*shivers* While I had already knew what this was going to be based on The Conversation, but this managed to still be creepy. (That's a complement. ;) I think my favorite part is the ending with his eyes, dang, that is a beautiful way to show what has happened to him. And would be really, really, creepy for everyone around him. Great work!
