I like Yuriko's character too! And I agree that she has potential. You did good with her thus chapter as her words and actions match what canon showed. Of course she has matured a bit (more tactful and thoughtful) but it's good she's still lively and spirited.

I feel depressed and almost tricked, at the end it says one more chapter to go, but then it has been more than two years since the last update.
Nonetheless, I loved it. If only it was finished though, I wouldn't be kept hanging and guessing how it ends.

After all dear Natsume been through he desearve to be loved. But I'm really happy with this story. Only a few fanfics tackles abiut Natsume's romantic relationship like this. Surprisingly I couldnt believe myself to SO ENGROSS with a story about love.
Dont get me wrong I sometimes enjoy watching/reading shojo kinda things, but most of the time I find boring because of all ot those cliches. And honestly I couldnt imagine Natsume falling in love yet you made me realize otherwise. I was litterally wailing and crying of how much Natsume had grew ( to the point were my dad ask me if I was insane). Sorry if this review is kinda long a boring but I dont review much on the stories I read. And beside my sister told me that authors pit a lot of time and effort to make a good story, so the least reader can do is to show appreciation to it( by making an essay of gratitude hahahaha). Again sorry for the looooooonnnnggg review. Please continue writing. You made a really goog job on developing feelings in your writings. Lookimg forward for your next story~

Natsume Romance is DEFINITELY a difficult combination, and I can't imagine it happening in canon. But, Natsume was so in-character and I can't help but wish this happens in canon!

ENDLESS FLAILING.

I love it! Your updates have most certainly always been worth waiting for! You're practically inspiring me to create a bunch of stories from this (I have a few other NY fics that I haven't uploaded but seeing your progression inspires me to)!

Natsume and romance don't really go together, like you said, but how you've done it - it was all slow and sweet and gentle and I think if they ever did approach it in canon it would be pretty much like this. It's a teeny bit shoujo-y, but then what romantic moments in anime/manga aren't?! I liked the bit where Natsume actually physically reached out to comfort Yuriko because he would definitely be really hesitant about stuff like that but he's a good person and he would feel like he had to do something (wanting to be affectionate but wary of contact at the same time). You paced out the time nicely, you conveyed Natsume's doubts about his own self worth so well and how he needs someone like Yuriko and GAH this pairing is perfect and you've done it beautifully. Also, I hope you don't mind me saying but you can really see over the course of the story how your writing has improved (and it was great to begin with). If you ever wanted to write any follow-up oneshots or drabbles to this story set in this lovely little future universe you've so beautifully created I would definitely read them.

Also, the back story about Natsume discovering more about his family (and the little added bits of his friendship with Natori-san) are lovely. Natori is a bit sketchy but I think he's fundamentally a good person and I always like the brotherly dynamic between him and Natsume, which you've written really well. As for Natsume's family history, it's inspired but completely plausible (if heart-wrenching). You have a deep understanding of the canon and your story fits perfectly. I LOVE IT.

I love the NY fandom because it's not that big, but it has some incredibly talented people and you're one of them. I hope when I finally get round to uploading some of my work you'd be willing to take a look for me :) can't wait for the last chapter!
