Great little story. I like the book premise hidden until late so that we misunderstand the reasons for her distress, while still getting all the same feelings wrapped up in a nice bundle.

I like this interaction. You've managed to stay very true to both their characters, and I can see this happening at almost any point of the series, which isn't something I can say of many fics.
Originally I thought that she wouldn't be so abrasive with him at the beginning, but then I thought about the fact that she had been caught off-guard and in a moment of weakness, something that rarely happens to Kathryn Janeway, and that it was more realistic to have her react like that given why she was in that state. So, you won me over on that count.
