That was a beautiful snapshot of a lost world. I liked all the attention to the details of the aquarium, and how the water-breathers and air-breathers interact, all the social niceties and so on. It's wonderful that Minion was there at Megamind's birth! I could visualize him hiding behind his parent during the scarier bits. Young Minion is very endearing. Another nice detail was the fact that Megs' mother was severed. Naturally the Paired Peoples would have terms for things like that happening.

And it was very touching to see Minion bond with his charge, so strongly that all he remembers is looking into his eyes. Does Megamind remember that too? Which made the ending all the sadder, to know that this living world is doomed, along with almost all of the beings on it. A lot is going to be expected from this little fish... Lovely one-shot!
