AU where dwarves are evil and super power hungry. One sided Bilbo/Thorin. Thorin is a monster who will get whatever he wants, and he wants something from the hobbit. Finally updated, now contains some background Fili/Tauriel/Kili.

Kili's not all that much to look at, by dwarf standards. The tale of how he discovers his passion for music and of his very first 'conquest' (wink, wink). Plenty of humorous brotherly affection, mischief, & an adorably infatuated Kili.

Bilbo sets his mind to a project to relieve some anxiety. Post "The Hobbit"

Dwarves and Hobbits lived in different parts of Middle-Earth for a reason. They lived different lives, upheld different cultures and on most occasions should they meet, not at all get along. But when a Dwarven king and his nephews stumble into the Shire, how will a hobbit by the name of Bilbo Baggins take to their arrival?

All of the dwarves survive the Battle of the Five Armies, but Bilbo must return to the Shire to sort out his old life and make way for a new one in Erebor. Over one year later, Bilbo comes back to the Lonely Mountain with a recently orphaned Frodo. King Thorin isn't quite sure what to make of this new, tiny addition to his Company. Slow build, Company and character focused.

Bilbo left Erebor without knowing whether or not Thorin, Fili and Kili were dead. Angst. Not beta-ed. T to be safe.

When Thorin is injured in the Battle of the Five Armies, Bilbo surprises everyone with his healing abilities. Then as Erebor starts to rebuild he continues to surprise people with his knowledge and skills. On top of everything else that is occuring there is a dwarf king and a hobbit are be trying to court one another without the other knowing. Direct Spoilers for the end of book.

Bilbo Baggins was about as frightening as a baby rabbit, that was to say: not at all. Or at least, that is what Thorin Oakenshield had thought up until that fateful night. The dwarf had worried before over how the hobbit would fare when they reached the mountain...now? That dragon was toast. What if Thorin had not been conscious to witness Bilbo's act of courage - and what if this leads to Bilbo attempting to prove himself again - only this time the consequences are dire?

A long time ago, a hobbit, a Baggins of Bag End, saved a dwarf prince, one of the line of Durin, and died in the process. As a result, the dwarf prince made a vow to the dying Baggins that one day one of his line would take a Baggins as a consort to repay the hobbit for his sacrifice. Years passed and Gandalf the Grey pays Bilbo Baggins a visit that will change his life...

Thorin and Bilbo meet again.But, Thorin isn't the only one waiting for Bilbo. *Spoilers, probably, if you haven't read the book*

Bilbo Baggins knew the braiding of hair and beards between dwarves was a loving gesture, whether family or lovers. Bilbo wants to try it out to see if a certain dwarf king returns his feelings. Thorin/Bilbo, very mild Fili/Kili. I apologise if anyone is OOC, first Hobbit fic. R&R, x.

A telling of the Battle of Five Armies from the POVs of Thorin and his nephews. It was one of the most beautiful nights that had ever been witnessed. The sky was a crisp, midnight blue and the moon shone brighter than ever, giving the cloud behind which it hid an enchanting silver glow. In some sense, it could be argued, it was a good night to die.

Small stories set along the journey to Erebor, about a king without a mountain, an honest burglar, and the fine company they keep. Here there be book and (2012) movie spoilers, and eventually dragons. Or at least one dragon. Also, a smattering of Thorin/Bilbo romance.

Kíli and Fíli are nearly drowned and Bilbo begins to wonder if Thorin is missing what he has right in front of him. Not slash.

Before they leave Bag End, Balin reminds Thorin he forgot something

And in the heart of the Lonely Mountain lais Thorin's most prized possession. His crown jewel, known of only by those closest to him, and even then with great reluctance. In the bed of silks and furs, among gold and gems he sleeps, undisturbed by all for fear of the Dwarven King's wrath that should fall on anyone who dares to awaken his burglar. Now with fanart!

Tension runs high amongst the dwarves as the Battle of Five Armies draws closer, and the company takes solace in the words of someone they least expected.

"Thorin?" Bilbo's voice was wavering, but he didn't care, because it was Thorin. And if there was someone who could protect him from the creature, it was him.

Part 2 of the Hearts and Minds series: Fili is a bit nosy when it comes to his brother's affairs but he often doesn't pay enough attention to his own. In which Fili is oblivious, Bofur is amused, and Ori has no idea what's happening. Sequel to my fic, 'Quietly,' which you might need for full enjoyment of this story. MAD SPOILERS, I KID YE NOT. Bilbo makes time for mourning. He begins to think of the grey ships, and whether it is better to join his lover in death, or bear his love across the sea, though it will never be more than a memory.
