Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I love English grammar. My spelling is, well, quite frankly, not very good, but hey, that's what Spell-Check is for. I love to read, and I enjoy writing, even if I do absolutely despise what I write. I would gladly read anyone's works, if they would like me to. Send me your chapters and stories, and I will happily edit them. The longer the better, always and forever. I honestly mean that. I loved to read from a very early age, and still do, and always will, I think. It matters not what it is, or what rating it happens under, or what takes place. Send it to me, and I will do my best to correct it as I cannot seem to do with my own. Please, though, just write in English. It's the only language I speak fluently. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I excel at reading, and have an encyclopedic-like wealth of knowledge, as well as a truly massive vocabulary. I have impeccable grammar, always know just when and where to use a comma, and genuinely enjoy reading the works of others. Now, don't get me wrong, I can be as strict as an English Grammar instructor, but I will always be honest with my criticisms, and give reasons why I disliked the story, in addition to ways to correct it. Since I can do that with the writings of others, simply not my own. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I hate my writing. I can see what goes where, and how to tie a story together, but I absolutely despise my writings. I have never, not once, enjoyed reading what I write. Although I don't have this problem when correcting others works, for reasons unknown to me. As such, while backed by the (mildly extensive) works of the various authors I have read, it may not work well with your story. Also, I have been told that I was too harsh of a critic, though this was by someone who thought their works were completely perfect, even as I pointed out several flaws. Repeated flaws, I might add. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I just like to read. Send anything and everything to me, and I will go over it for proper grammar, including punctuation, homophones, homonyms, and all of those pesky There sound-a-likes. I will read anything and everything, no matter what may be in it. English is, of course, the only option for me to read, but I will happily read translated works. I can read left-to-right, or up-to-down, or up-left-to-down-right, but please, it must be in English. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
As I said, I have absolutely no problem with the extremely lewd, nor with it's opposite. Just send me your works, and I will go over them. English is, of course, the only option for me to read, but I will happily read translated works.
