I was raised by an English teacher and the only thing that bugs me about people's stories is the grammar and spelling mistakes. If you ask me to beta-read for you, I'll go over the story and make sure everything's correct, but I'm not touching the content or the word choices. (Unless you say lie when you should say lay.)Also, I may suggest that you write in past tense, but it's just a suggestion.

I'm really good with grammar and pretty good with spelling.

My weakness is, unfortunately, semi-colons, but I'm working on getting better!

I'll beta anything, but if I know the story/TV-show/movie you're talking about, it will probably be easier for me to know if something is a mistake or just a quirk of the subject matter.

There's really nothing I won't beta-read unless I'm just uncomfortable with the subject matter and trust me, that doesn't happen much. Go ahead and ask, and if I have time, I'll say yes.
