Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Basically, as a beta reader, I carefully read through the story before it is posted, and correct mistakes as I get to them. I'm very much a perfectionist in the area of writing. I will send an edited version of your chapter back after I've edited it, of course. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
My biggest strength is spelling. Sometimes I feel appalled at the spelling of my peers and can't help pointing out a few mistakes. If I do betareading, I can use this trait positively. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm not always the best at sentence structure, but I'm not too bad. I will try to help with this, but I do notice most people don't have trouble with this. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I would prefer reading over stories that are medium-sized and don't come in huge chunks. Possibly 6000 words a chapter or below. I don't mind which category. I would prefer to have T-rated stories or below, and Romance/Friendship stories would be my preferred genre. I will only edit English stories. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
I would prefer not to betaread stories that have one paragraph per chapter and less than 500 words. Other than that I don't mind what stories I read. I cannot betaread any language other than English, and I would prefer not to betaread M-rated stories or anything with lemons. In genre, I do not want to betaread Horror, if possible, or anything gory. Concerning different categories, I have no particular preferences, but I would prefer not to have to read stories from categories that have words and definitions special to them, as I may not understand and try to correct something that is already correct. |
