Alright. My name is Zara, and I'm addicted to fanfiction. I love it, but unfortunately, am not very good at writing it. However, I'm a good editor, and have edited things for friends in the past. If you want to see me in action, go look up freak.with.a.shoe. I edited a fair bit of The Compass, and all of Formal Attire Required. You should also go look at it because she's an amazing writer, but that's not really the point. I don't have a style per say--I'd just like to be more beneficial to the fanfiction community as a whole, and posses a love of editing and excessive amounts of free time. Though I do comment on the piece as a whole, meaning I'll tell you everything I like, and also everything I don't. Some people find this irritating, others enjoy it. To quote La Cauge aux Folles (because drag queens make everything better) "I Am What I Am".

I excel at grammatical errors, catching typos, word choice, etc. I'm also good with finding what doesn't fit, and helping refine wayward plots. I've been reading pretty much constantly since the age of 4, and fanfiction constantly for about a year and a half. I'm also ahead a year in English, and in A.P., if you take classes as any indication of skill. I'd say all things considered, I'm a very good beta, but I'd rather not sound cocky and pretentious. So we'll just pretend that it doesn't sound cocky and that I'm being lame and self-conscious. Another entirely likely possibility.

I'm awful with possessive things, like it's vs. its. I'm also not too good with really nasty words, e.g. affective vs. effective. Not much throws me though. My stories do NOT reflect how I will edit yours. I reiterate; I can edit, but not write.

I would absolutely LOVE to beta Gelphie (a.k.a Wicked, ElphabaGlinda). I'm partial to editing anything really, and I'm familiar with quite a few fandoms. If not, I'm also proficient with Wikipedia, so I'll be up to date on your fandom quickly. I really prefer slash (as in not hetero fics), but I'm open-minded. I'll beta pretty much everything, though I may rant about it to friends if it interferes with one of my core pairings. I'm not nearly hypocritical enough to say no het however- I think we should all have the freedom to read the best of whatever it is we want to read.

I do have limits. I will probably turn away anything too gory, merely because I cannot handle that sort of thing. Anything that just repulses me, I will refuse to beta. I reallly dislike incest pairings if I'm aquainted with the fandom in the slightest, and I'm also not a fan of large age differences (though I'll probably beta them if they're not too bad). Otherwise though, I'll generally read and edit it.
