Hello, one and all! My name's Lyssa, though on here I go by Rogue Queen's Gambit, which I understand is kind of a a mouthful, but I like it. I'm nineteen and in my first year of college. Kinda sucks, but I understand it's a necessary evil.

Also, just so you know, I have a tendency to change my pen name on the spur of the moment and without warning. Quite randomly, actually. So, if you like what you read and would like to get back to it later, I recommend bookmarking my permanent link, as the other one is subject to change without notice.

Hang around my page long enough and you will soon figure out that my mind works very randomly, processing new ideas much of the time, but at the same time rarely finishing many of them. I try my very hardest to complete stories, but sometimes it just doesn't work. The ones I have completed, I am very proud of, though.

Alright, well, a little about myself:

I do a lot of drawing and I am trying to do more on the computer with my tablet. As soon as my friend fixes my computer (removing all those nasty viruses I appear to have accrued over the past year or so) I intend to try to finish some of those up.

I used to read a lot of manga. Of course, I also used to be pretty neurotic too, but now I've evened out to just psychotic. ;-P But yea. Now, I read more novels and short stories.

Some of my favorites include just about anything by Meg Cabot (not really a big fan of the Princess Diaries, to tell you the truth), although my favorite is probably the Mediator series and the 1-800-Where-R-You series. Celia Rees wrote a really interesting historical fiction duo, Witch Child and Sorceress, which I recommend to anyone looking for a good read. I enjoyed the Harry Potter series, but Deathly Hallows was by far the best (even though I'm still a little peeved that Fred had to die!!) Artemis Fowl is a great series, even if it is aimed at a younger audience. Of course, the inevitable Stephanie Meyer novels of the Twilight series and her stand-alone, The Host. And personally, I think you can't really appreciate Twilight without reading the original vampire classic, Dracula, which is worth the time spent getting through the heavy Irish dialect a few parts are written in. Also, my friends recently introduced me to the In Death series by Nora Roberts using her pen name JD Robb.

Also, some really awesome fanfictions, which you should definitely consider checking out if you're looking for an extremely good read. Caution, should be extended, however, since Lori McDonald's Gestalt arc (an X-Men Romy fic) and RubyLis's End of Innocence (another X-Men Romy fic) both contain sex scenes. Another author worth sending some pageviews and reviews to is the amazing Neurotic Temptress. If you do visit her page, you absolutely must read her stories Hazard and After Midnight. Both are X-Men Romy fics, but you don't have to be an X-Men fan to get the story lines since they're set in alternate universes (AU), which is nice, since they are both excellent.

I've been writing for several years and I love doing it. It's like my release and I especially love when I'm writing a story I'm really passionate about and I get really nice reviews (hint hint). It just makes my day and gives me warm fuzzies; a two-fer!

Around New Year's, I re-discovered my X-Men obsessions I had apparently been harbouring since childhood. (I used to really love the animated show they aired on Fox.) So, I've been turning this obsession to fanfiction, naturally. Just so we clear this up ahead of time, I'm a die-hard Romy fan, so there will be no dissing of the Cajun or the Southerner, got it? Right now, I've got this really cool idea for a Romy story buzzing around in my head and I can't wait to get it out, so stick around!

Also, for Christmas my family recieved a PS3 (courtesy of Santa!! ;-)) and I discovered my love of the game Dragon Age: Origins. It. Is. My. Crack. I'm on my second playthrough, though this time on the PC since I've heard gameplay is better on PC. (So far, I love my PS3 more though.) I've never considered myself a gamer. Until now. So, shorts that buzz around in my skull as a result of this game WILL end up on this site.
