![]() Author has written 3 stories for RWBY. What, like a Puma? Yeah, There you go. Hey guys, SomeSortOfCat here. First things first, I want to thank you for taking a look at what I have to offer the Fanfiction universe. It's only one story, I know. But it's one that I believe the vast majority of the RWBY fandom wants to hear. Unfortunately, RoosterTeeth has given us no indication that there will be a canon prequel spinoff, so I'm taking it upon myself to write the screenplay for them, so to speak, with STRQ. Think about it. How little do we know about Summer Rose? We've seen her thus far in canon in a single photograph, unless the intro sequence of Volume 1 can be considered canon, that still only makes it two short moments in a five-volume show. At best, we know she can make some bomb chocolate chip cookies and slay monsters with the best of 'em, and that she possesses a rare and powerful gift... Silver Eyes. Beyond that? Absolutely nothing. What about Qrow? He's had more screen time, sure. But beyond drinking, fighting, turning into a bird, and drinking some more, he hasn't had much character development. Is he just the fun uncle that Ruby gravitated towards because of Taiyang's overbearing and protective nature, or is he something much, much more, but could never act on it because he knew every moment he spent near the things he held most dear only put them in more and more danger? Raven? Sure, she had some pretty emotional moments towards the end of Volume 5, but it was her early life that shaped the way she is now. We know of a time in her life came when she tossed aside the bandit and became the huntress that learned to open herself up, to love, and laugh, and to fight like there was no tomorrow, and no matter how brief that time was, I want a chance to explore that too. And the man she fell in love with, Taiyang Xiao Long, the great sun dragon himself, is portrayed as a broken single father with serious fears about letting go of his two girls. Where does his daughter get her fiery, live-in-the-moment nature, if she never even met her mother until Volume 5? There's a much less broken man in there somewhere that I intend to introduce to everyone who gives this story a read. All in all, I'm writing STRQ to put to virtual paper the events that forged these four people into a team of huntsmen and huntresses that shaped the world of Remnant as we know it now. Loyal confidants of Ozpin, the spies and warriors that single-handedly stopped Salem the last time she attempted to destroy humanity, and the parents of two of the last remaining hopes for mankind by the time of RWBY canon. I hope the journey ahead amounts to all you guys hope it will. Please PM me with ideas about plot points and theories that you think should make it into the narrative. I have a general idea of how I want this story to unfold, certain ideas and themes that are going to drive character development, but nothing laid out in stone whatsoever. Thanks again! Onward! |
