Author has written 12 stories for 10th Kingdom, Doctor Who, Jasper Fforde, Biggles series, Lost In Austen, and Hogan's Heroes. My name is Ngaire (pronouced Ny-ree if anyone is interested) but its not a name I'm going to impose on everyone else if at all possible, so I call myself Rosea on line. It's the name of a flower and a mountain where I'm from- Victoria, Australia. I'm 35 years old and going strong, although inside I feel like a shy and uncertain 18 year old. It will be a grim day when I feel my chronological age. My background is in Geology and Environmenal Science, and this has made things a little difficult when writing fantasy, as I feel an overwhelming need to make my landscapes geologically and ecologically realistic, but these handicaps can be worked around. I have been a science teacher, but escaped from the classroom and am now an educator for a rubbish company. Oh the glamour! I have a variety of hobbies covering a range of subject: reading, writing, gardening, Shakespeare, astronomy, embroidery, archery and drifting off into my own fantasy world being chief amoung them. I started writing when I was 14 with a story that has since evolved into novel in progress which will probably never be published let alone finished, with numerous re-writes, character additions, new situations, etc. The story was shelved until I went to university when I found I needed a break from all those rocks (I did a geology course), when it was reborn and grew, and grew, and grew. Since then writing, both on the novel and other smaller things, like fan fic, has been a wonderful escape from the pressures of life, study and work. "Sister Wolf" is my first step into the world of 'published' fanfic and the first time that anyone other than my closest writing buddy and editor has read it. I have two other on going stories apart from "Sister Wolf", one for Doctor Who and one based on a Hungarian fairy tale. I have also posted one shots for Doctor Who, Jasper Fford, Lost in Austin and the Biggles Series. If you decide to read them, please let me know what you think. |
