Reasons for discrepancies in standards of writing I started writing fanfiction when I was about twelve but most of it was written for the sake of writing. There is a dire lack of quality in anything I have released through this user ID and I attribute this to three things. Firstly, there was no beta reader system for me to put my ideas through on the site as well as off it. Secondly, people in this community were extremely easily satisfied and that basically led to inadequate quality control. Thirdly, I didn't really bother with having a good standard of writing at the time. My focus has always been on editing and beta-reading, and so I didn't really think about looking at the structural dynamics of a story. Original Fiction: I have written quite a number of 'tales'- a large part of which consist of short stories and what is apparently known as a drabble. These have not been published anywhere except a website that is now defunct. This has also meant that everything I uploaded there is gone, yes. Creative Inspirations: 07th Expansion, Nakamura Hikaru, Sorachi Hideaki, John Tolkien, George Martin, Ursula LeGuin, Takahashi Takako, Hwang Mi-Rae and, more than anybody else, William Blake and Soseki Natsume. Also oral traditions and crackfiction. Debut Publication: Its Gonna Rain, in which I should have said something about Frisk pizza. Technically, it should have been Hogwarts Radio but that was never aired. Ideas that require collaboration for any further growth: Shiho The Scoundrel,a Gintama/Arakawa-esque spin on Shiho Hahnenfuss and her adventures in the military. Ocean, the revamped, remapped and un-shitty Dream Fragments. No MSV this time. Great Teacher Le Crueset, a kick in the unfortunate face of a very inspiring story. What to preferably write when reviewing: Tell me one acceptable thing about what you just read, along with two bad or not so good things. Otherwise, just go as harsh as you can while staying constructive. |
