Author has written 9 stories for Snorks, Misc. Cartoons, Wizard, and Misc. Games. Hey there! I'm Ryan Rinkerman, just in case you missed my name the first time. Writing has been one of my hobbies since I was 6, but I only started putting my stories on the internet in early 2005. My interest in writing fanfics started when I got into Snorks. After ignoring that show for most of my life, I sat down to watch an episode in October of 2004. And I loved it. I started recording every episode, buying old Snorks merchandise, and visiting lots of Snorks sites. One day I realized that I had found lots of Snorks fanart, but I couldn't find ONE SINGLE PIECE of fan fiction. So I asked myself, "What do I have to do find Snork fan fiction? Write the darn stuff myself?" As you can see, I decided that wasn't such a bad idea. I have six Snorkfics posted here. I try to keep it faithful to the show; trying to keep everybody in character, using the same dialogue the Snorks do in the show, references to 80's pop culture, stuff like that. My fics are designed to bridge the gap between the NBC and syndication runs, taking the best elements of both...a season 2.5, if you will. I draw most of my inspiration from the first two seasons; the last two made many changes I really didn't like (Junior becoming nicer, Dimmy disappearing, that dork Bigweed, etc.), the writing and animation weren't as good, and some episodes were just plain bad (don't get me started on that dumb Ice Wizard episode!). Sure, there were one or two nice changes (like the addition of Corky), but it just wasn't the same. After taking a lengthy break from writing fanfiction, I got back into it in 2012, thanks to my good friend and fellow writer Homesnork. She also introduced me to another spectacular cartoon, Jelly Jamm. We wrote a Jellyfic together, and you can find the fruit of that labor here. Of course, I do have interests besides fanfiction; I also like watching cartoons, playing video games, and listening to music (especially 80's songs; I love the 80's). I draw fanart as well, although I think my writing is stronger than my artwork. I'm also a huge game show nut; I collect and trade them. One of my odder hobbies, I know. Most of my favorite programs are game shows, but those don't really lend themselves to fan fiction. Well, that's pretty much all I can think of for now. If I can think of anything else to say I'll add it. (As if this thing wasn't verbose enough already, right?) Hope you enjoy the stories! |
