Hi Salut こんにちわ 안녕하세요 Name: Confidential Age: 20 Gender: Male Nationality: South Korean Likes: Food, animals, boxing, basketball, creative writing Dislikes: Disrespectful and ignorant individuals, insects, boiled veggies What I look for in a fanfic: A protagonist with a unique personality A protagonist that grows throughout the story not in terms of physical capabilities, but personalities or perspectives. A plot with a good pace, with sufficient development of relevant characters.What will discourage me from reading a fanfic: Grammar/spelling mistakes in the first paragraph of chapter one will tell me that you're taking this lightly, and I will probably stop reading. Exposition dumping; there is always that one character who'll meet the protagonist in a designated place to explain the setting of the world or describe important characters in a single paragraph. Lazy writing, and lack of innovation; don't do it. Protagonist revealing key information to random people early on in the story. Girls falling head-over-heels for a protagonist that they just met 10 seconds ago. It's revolting.Things that I hate about a fanfic: Dialogue style A/N (with the actual characters involved in it). Just keep it short. Your story may be 100k long, but let's be honest, 60k makes up all the BS in your A/N (I'm guilty of this). Yaoi ; I don't mean to judge, but just no... You trying to use overly complex words to make yourself look big. You just look like a nob, so don't. Shameless insertion of millions of character's from other animes; I'm literally tired of googling all the names to see who they are. Millions of OCs; I get that you want to make your story original, and 2-4 OCs are okay (for my personal tolerance), but if you start adding any more, we're going to have problems.I'm sure some of the points listed above coincides with your preferences; but generally, I am SUPER picky when it comes to finding a fanfic I want to read. |
