The First Discord - Brief one-shot experimenting with some ideas on how Sauron fell to darkness. I plan to write more like this some day.

Mortal Kombat

Katharsis - Kuai Liang helps Scorpion readjust to the word of the living. World where Scorpion looses his fire when he returns to life. This was my first MK fic. It's spiritual journey to peace via ninja bickering, fights and meditation.

In Your Shadow - Kuai Liang tries to save his brother Noob Saibot from the Netherrealm (there's a theme going on here). Noob Saibot has other ideas and is a sassy bastard. I read Dante's Inferno for this. And in the end opted for more of an MK aesthetic crossed with mythological fairytale. More intense relationships, fights and a bit of brotherly love Sub-Zero brothers style. I proof read this to death hence the fic below as a break.

Two Deaths in Every Kill - Young Kuai Liang and Smoke travel in Eastern Europe on an assassination mission overseen via telephone by Bi-Han. It will be a black comedy. But not both at once. It will be comedic and then inexplicably black. Then a bit of each. We'll see where it ends up. This monster is finally finished. It pretty much did what I wrote on this tin.

The Wheel of Necessity - Sareena and Noob Saibot meet for the first time since Bi-Han has become a wraith. They hash it out with their bad people skills. One-shot. This is an unashamed attempt to express what I love about Mortal Kombat - the Anglo-Saxon saga style hopelessness of an endless world of violence filled with people who just want to try and live.

Feud From Beyond The Grave - Noob Saibot comes for vengeance when he realises Scorpion has been returned to life and is training a new generation of Shirai Ryu. Post-MKX one-shot. I just wanted more drama between these two. And I imagined Bi-Han as majorly irritated that Scorpion gets to start over again as if nothing had happened between them. Also an excuse to write Scorpion and his hung up Bushido angst.

The Rarest Stone - Got a request for a story about Jade and Kitana when they were young. Two girls from very different backgrounds snoop around places they should not be. This was fun to write. Might do more if there's interest.

Spirits at War - Short gift story where Smoke and Sub-Zero are both cyborgs struggling to hold onto their humanity. Bittersweet because apparently I'm not very good at writing romance in any other way!

Secrets the Storm Keeps - Another short gift story, in which I attempted a less tragic romantic thing. It's not really that romantic but look I tried.

Black Ice - Hong Kong crime drama featuring young Sub-Zero bros. Its a crime thriller with lots of no-chill Bi-Han breaking people and a very young Kuai Liang innocently discovering the world. 你可以在这里用中文阅读: yonghu6036188632 (dot) lofter (dot) com

Sparrow in Winter - In which Reyes is an overprotective dad not having any nonsense from Hanzo, and Genji spends a lot of time sulking and trying to avoid his brother. I was aiming for something new and different in this story, but it is ultimately another fic about two ninja brothers taking down organised crime in east Asia whoops.

Fortified by Hate - A young Kazuya and Chaolan attend a weapons convention to secure an oil deal, but end up trying to navigate a series of disasters whilst also enjoying their freedom away from the watchful eyes of Heihachi.

Zen Gardens of the Heart - It's 1996. Dark days have descended upon Tokyo. Mishima Kazuya has seized control of the Mishima Zaibatsu. He's ready to let everything burn in his quest for ever greater power. One thing stands in his way: a young officer, Kazama Jun, assigned to investigate his corporation, who keeps insisting on seeing him as a person instead of a tyrannical corporate mobster...

Chasing Demons - Jin Kazama wakes up in his uncle's clinic, determined to finally rid himself of his devil gene. His plan for doing so however - ask the world's leading expert on the gene for help - Kazuya Mishima.
