I will be deleting all of my stories off Fanfiction by the end of this summer, around August, after I have completed Hope is the Thing with Feathers. This account will stay up only to redirect users to other sites I post fanfic on. This is not a decision I will be turning back on. It has been long coming.

Over the past few years, I have grown increasingly annoyed with Fanfiction. This is for a number of reasons. Firstly, the processes of uploading and editing stories on this site is a pain (i.e. first uploading a document, then adding to the story, and if I want to edit, having to go back and reupload a NEW version instead of editing right there and then). It’s been a hassle from the getgo. Fanfiction.net is not technologically advanced in the sense that it makes it easy for its users to upload stories, profile pictures, cover pictures, etc. Always having to create a separate Fanfiction.net version of a chapter for upload has been a pain for as long as I have written on this site.

Secondly, I’ve found there is a pretty hateful community on Fanfiction. For those who have been kindly commenting for years on my stories, thank you. I appreciate it, but I often feel that everyone is incredibly judgmental and rude, and I always have an icky feeling in my stomach every time I log onto the site. Fanfiction feels much less welcoming than the other fanfiction sites I post on.

But the main reason I am deleting my stories is for the one feature that makes me despise this site. Anonymous guest reviews. For years, I have hated this feature, and I think Fanfiction needs to have the option to turn off guest reviews. All I can do is moderate, but that does not prevent me from reading through all the incredibly rude, hateful, and spamming comments that many users have left on my stories. The worst is that I have no option to reply to these guest reviews, so I cannot discourage this behavior unless I post disclaimers at the beginning of my stories, which ends up spamming my story and making it annoying for my perfectly polite readers to read through. I find posting these disclaimers discouraging guest reviews has done nothing, which is why I have come to this decision. I no longer want to be burdened with reading yet another grossly written comment again that I do not even have the option of replying to.

My stories will only exist on sites where you need to be a LOGGED-IN USER to comment. For those reading this and worrying about losing access to my stories, do not worry, they still exist, and I will still be uploading new fanfic, just not on this site anymore. To read the same stories you know and love, please visit the only two places I will be posting fanfiction this time forward.

All of my stories posted on this site are currently available to read on those two sites, and new fanfiction will exclusively only be posted on those sites.

To those who have supported me on this site for years and given me comments of encouragement, thank you. I appreciate your support for my writing, but I can no longer tolerate this site. I hope those of you who have stuck with me for years will check me out on those other sites.
