As the prospect of retirement looms for the Butler of Downton Abbey will Charles and Elsie finally part ways or will they find happiness and fulfilment together? This story is set at some point after Series 4.

Now though with a single grumpy statement he'd summed up what was wrong with their relationship and always would be. Ultimately she would always be less important than whatever he had going on.

She knew she could sit there running over every summer that might be even close to when the photo was taken and come up with a million connected memories but none that would explain why someone had picked now, over thirty years later to contact her about them nor why they'd do it in such an obtuse manner.

This story picks up at the end of the Independence Day Ball and will allow us a sneak peek into the years that passed in between the movies. Clarisse and Joseph will experience some happy times but also some trying times.

Set immediately after the season 7 finale. Spoilers for season 7. James Hathaway goes to discuss his future with DCS Innocent but the meeting doesn't go according to plan.

An unexpected encounter with Nick Cornish leaves Lewis questioning his new relationship with Hobson. Meanwhile, Innocent gives Hobson a reality check of her own. And as usual, Hathaway has to pick up the pieces. Set between The Ramblin' Boy and Intelligent Design with references to both episodes.

The weekend may not ahead gone exactly. How they had been planning but right then she was finding it impossible to care ultimately she had gotten what she had wanted all along and she'd take that no matter how they had got there.

Dr. Clarkson stops by to check on his favorite nurse, the mourning Isobel Crawley. He finds her worse off then he could have imagined and wishes he could take away her grief. Rating may change as story continues...

Closing the office door again she returned to the paperwork on her desk smiling at the difference half an hour could make, she'd still been in a foul mood when he walked in but now she had never felt more relaxed and she knew as long as she had him to manage her anger she could deal with anything.

Elsie has always been a bit more receiving of the new ways and things than Charles. This go round it's not a toaster that gets him riled up...and this time he might just been more accepting.
