Author has written 14 stories for Last Tango in Halifax, Janet King, Holby City, and Call the Midwife. Initially, the fabulous story writing of Sally Wainwright in creating Last Tango in Halifax Series 1 and Series 2 (unfortunately, I feel she lost her way in the second half of Series 3) and the wonderful characters of Kate and Caroline inspired me to pick up the pen myself and write a few stories and I must confess that I have become addicted to it. Although it was Sally Wainwright's idea to include these lesbian characters in her storyline, I have come to firmly believe that the actual characters that we have fallen head over heels for are almost entirely the creation of the brilliant actresses, Sarah Lancashire and Nina Sosanya...you just can't write that sort of chemistry. Here I pretty much have a captive audience of LTiH fans who sometimes choose to read my work. A heart-felt thank you to those of you who take the time to read and review...it's what keeps us going so I've discovered...knowing that others enjoy and appreciate the writers' efforts. I hope that my stories can provide you with some entertainment and help in some way to overcome the hurt that is out there with the sad demise of that wonderful couple, Kate and Caroline. I have ventured into the world of Janet King, of late. It is a wonderful Australian drama with a fabulous cast and complex story line. How many shows can boast of a lesbian main character particularly of the calibre of Janet King played by the gorgeous Marta Dusseldorp. I have to say, after the spate of lesbian deaths in other shows, I was disappointed to hear that...*spoiler alert*...Janet's partner from series 1 (Ash Larsson) dies in the first ep of series 2, however, they were able to make it up to me with Janet's new love interest, Sgt Bianca Grieve (played by the lovely Anita Hegh)...their chemistry is palpable. I am looking forward to series 3 with great anticipation and hope for Janet and Bianca. |
