So why 'OtakuLad'?

It's actually "Otaku-lad", but hyphens are usually a no-no for most Profiles so it was condensed.

'Otaku' is the Japanese word for someone with obsessive interests, usually in the anime and/or manga fandom. And while it's quite derogatory nowadays, back in 1999 when I first used used the pseudonym, it wasn't quite so bad. I was heavily into anime though.

The '-lad' part is an homage to DC's old "Legion of Superheroes", specifically 'Lightning Lad'...
