![]() Author has written 4 stories for Fairy Tail. I sat there, I sat in place on that uncomfortable plastic chair as I stared up at my bedroom wall. My heart was beating with ease and I closed my eyes as I let myself drift into my thoughts. I took deep breaths as I felt it all come at once. It was like my past was being played in a continuous sequence, highlighting all of my proudest moments to my cringeworthy failures. I watched all of my childhood dreams dissimulate itself, and I tried to grab them. I tried to grasp the innocence I lost, but no matter how fast I ran, no matter how hard I tried, no matter how loud I cried... they didn't come back. I stood on the edge of that cliff as watched the innocence slip away into a void where I can't go. The living can't go where the dead go, I learned that the hard way. I was only twelve when I experienced horrible vulnerability, I was only thirteen when I lost my best friend, I was only fourteen when I was cheated on, I was only fifteen when I realized that I wasn't the same anymore. We all go through a passing in our life time, a moment of realization that we aren't the same person as yesterday. We all sit in a deep dark pit of loneliness, and they say that only the strong can climb out... but that's not true. The weak can make it too, only if you want to. Don't sit there in the bottom of the pit and wallow in your self pity. Stand up and climb, because trust me when I say this. When you pull your head over the surface, you will be amazed by the beauty that will lay before you. It's like seeing a long lost friend, it's like being reunited with your missing pet, it's like looking down at your five year old self and assuring them that everything will be okay. It's breathtaking. If you want to give up, don't, because I'll be here to pick you up and we can walk to the edge of the earth together. We can scream our names to the world so we will never be forgotten. We will leave our mark on this world and we'll do it again for centuries and generations to come; and we'll do it together. That was when I opened my eyes and I was greeted with the sight of my best friend. I stood on the side of the living, and he stood on the side of the dead. I made a choice, and I had chosen him. Who am I? Who are we? Why am I here? Am I alive or am I dead? I can't answer those questions for you, but let me ask you this, why are you? Why are you here? Are you happy? I hope you are, I hope you found that happiness, because I found mine. |
