I’ve been an avid reader since the moment I learned to read. I love losing myself in a story, and I love how much words can convey. That, along with the fact that there’s usually a story brewing in my head, led me to writing. Little things sometimes trigger whole stories.

With Straight to the Heart, I read another story about the SNL skit with Adam Driver, Undercover Boss, and then I looked up the video. Then, the idea began to grow — what would Rey, a nervous flyer, do if she sat next to Matt the radar technician in his work clothes? Not a very comforting situation.

I fell asleep one night with the idea for what became the first chapter of The Letter, and I couldn’t get it out of my head until I wrote it. I’m still surprised about the amazing reaction. Thank you very much.

Story Updates:

Due to extenuating circumstances, I’ve been unable to write for months. I’m slowly returning to it, though, and I’m thankful that I’m able to. I’ve started with Straight to the Heart since it was the one that started “talking to me” when I returned to writing. I’ll try to update The Letter soon, but it depends on which story is on my mind. These stories and their characters can be very loud — also known as inspiration?
