![]() Author has written 62 stories for Phineas and Ferb, and Up. MY AVATAR is from a photo I took on 2/12/12 when I met Phineas and Ferb at Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in Florida. P&F rock! I have been making up stories since I was old enough to understand the concept of “let’s pretend.” Carrying the “storytelling gene” has been a blessing, and writing has always been a great outlet for me, whether I’m working on postable fics, or just scribbling for my own enjoyment. I’m not a very disciplined writer, and tend to do things in fits and starts, so I learned long ago that I’m usually best off sticking to one-shots. I'm a "she," if you're wondering, and apparently I am not the only person online using the net-nick "karly05" or similar. I hang out here and on a couple of Disney- and/or Pixar-related forums. If you run into a "karly05" anywhere else, especially one who posts personal real-world info or photos, that's not me. To borrow a sentiment from Phineas in the episode "Thaddeus and Thor," I don't do this to compete, I do it for fun. BUT, like all of us writers here on , I love getting reviews. THANK YOU to everyone who has taken the time to read, "favorite," and/or comment. Fic-Facts: I posted my first Phineas and Ferb fanfic here in November, 2011. At that time, the series had a long way to go, and I was already working out my head-canon for where I might take the futures of the characters. In the last episodes of Phineas and Ferb on television, the awesome creators, Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, laid out some important and sometimes unexpected canon. I like a lot of what they did (Ferbnessa for the Win! Yes!), and it certainly all works well for the series. But I was already committed to a lot of my own head-canon, between stories already posted and stories in the works, so I've stuck with my own ideas even when they ended up diverging from the series. Call anything of mine that doesn't match up "AU" if it helps. With that in mind, though, I've always tried to stay in canon and in character. I love making callbacks to the series, and several of my stories tie directly to series episodes. I'm a big (as in irrational die-hard) Ferbnessa Shipper. I like writing fluff and humor with the occasional poignant touch. My P&F stories all tie together, so if you read them all, you'll pick up on references and callbacks among them. If you read only one of my stories, please read "Good Old Fashioned Fun." It's rated K, suitable for everyone, and takes place in the context of the series, and several of my other stories refer back to it. I like maps and timelines so, strictly for my own fanfic purposes, I have made some decisions. There's no logical location for Danville, but I've put it in the Upper Midwest/Great Lakes region, and I have decided for my own timeline purposes that the Series Summer takes place in 2006. Vanessa's birthdate is June 15, 1990, and Ferb's is November 17, 1995; they are 5 1/2 years apart in age, and 6 years apart in school terms. On the Age Issue: "Phineas and Ferb's Quantum Boogaloo," the 20-years-in-the-future episode, implied they were 10 in the series, but "Act Your Age," the 10-years-in-the-future episode, indicates they are 8. I was already committed to my dates long before "Act Your Age," and I have a hard time buying that Ferb could be 8 or even 9 and have that mature voice he ended up with. Also, I didn't want him THAT much younger than Vanessa, and her age is well-established. THE TIMELINE: I’ve had a couple of readers ask about the sequence in which my stories take place, so here’s my epic attempt to clarify that. I still recommend reading the stories in the order in which they were written/posted, but if you have questions about where they fit into the overall timeline, I hope this will help. “Excaliferb! The Missing Coda” and “Rhode Island Fletcher and the Pizzazium Skull” are tied to the P&F “Time Shift” episodes and do not take place within “reality,” so are not included in the timeline. “His Name Was Matt” is Linda’s recounting of her first marriage. It doesn’t really matter where it falls in the timeline, but this really should be read where it falls in the posted order; there’s a spoiler for it in “Through the Storm.” Okay, everything below is listed in the order in which it takes place, and broken into smaller groups. (11/2/13 - I rearranged some things in the "Love Nest" section as I'm figuring out where the Candace/Ambrose stuff fits in with the Ferb/Vanessa wedding plans.) The Itty-Bitty Ferb Stories: The Series Summer: The Post-Series/Ferbnessa Friendship Era Stories: The Ferbnessa Romance: Living in the Love Nest: Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher and Family: THANKS FOR READING! |
