Tensions are tested when Mustang and his team are forced under the direct command of Kimblee. Meanwhile, Edward Elric is called to West City to investigate a grisly crime scene and missing philosopher’s stone.

AU/canon divergence set during/after the 2003 anime. Slow burn romances — Shifting POVs— Brotherhood characters— Scar never turns Lior into a philosophers stone, setting off a chain of events such as Edward never having the final confrontation with Dante and Bradley’s grasp on the military remaining intact for a further 6 years.

This fudgin’ fic has been in the backlog of my brain since about 2007 (yes, I’m old—go away).

I wrote this when I was a teenager, so I can’t really look it at without cringing. People still seem to be enjoying it though, so a massive thank you and lots of love to anyone reading all these years later.

One day I'll bake a cake for the beautiful people that tipped me over the 100 review mark. I can't guarantee that they'll get to eat said cake, but it'll be there. They’ll be in the world; it’ll be in the world, and they'll know that that the reason that cake-y goodness exists is because they reviewed. It's like giving birth, but I eat it later.
