![]() Author has written 7 stories for Fullmetal Alchemist. I write Royai sometimes. It's one of my favorite things. Maybe I'm back to this site. Maybe I'm not. I live in a National Park. I hike a great deal. I work a great deal. I'm trying to write something original in my spare time. My Stories: The Closed Circle - Good old-fashioned romance. Not a very serious story, but great fun to write, and I hope, fun to read. Stilettos at Dawn - Here I shall attempt to have a few interesting themes, but still a great deal of fun. Let's hope I succeed. Harmless/Betrayal/The Visitors/Indecent - Little one-shots. Each one is a different flavor, and they don't involve much time investment. Ruby Throat – I’m keeping this story up as a study of teenage hmmingbird’s work. It’s exceedingly angsty and the narration is heavy-handed, but it’s peppered with a few instances of good writing. It was my first time grappling with heavy subject matter, and I think my end result achieved about middling success, but the attempt was instructive. If I could do it all again, I think I could make it much better, but I dislike the entire premise now, so I don’t think I would. All I can say is, it takes practice and experience to improve and I truly appreciate all the feedback and encouragement that I got during that time in my life. I think it did wonders for my confidence as a writer. The Timeline Question: I’ve had a few questions regarding the continuity of my work. Some people are curious about whether Ruby Throat exists in the same timeline as other stories I’ve written, such as The Closed Circle. My answer is, that my intention is to have every story I write exist independently of the others, so that way they can be enjoyed on their own merits without requiring the reader to plod through my entire body of work. My stories will never reference events that happened in other stories because I don’t want to make them complicated. That being said, I am also not opposed to them existing within the same continuity if you feel they work that way. So if you enjoy any of my stories better as part of the same timeline, by all means, consider them so. If you think, as I do, that they are better off separate, consider them so. However you like it. |
