Author has written 17 stories for Glee. So it's all in a name now is it? Well I thought long and hard on a pen name and finally settled on this beautiful little conundrum. For one, I plan on being a hit on the stage sometime in the near future. Where? No clue. But the drive is here, believe me. I'm a soprano, through and through, with a three and a half octave range. I play the flute, I was a Drum Major, I'm an actress who loves musicals; they are my anti-drug for sure. I divide my time between school, teaching flute lessons, composing, learning random italian solos and writing down my every thought in hopes of capturing some fleeting glimpse of brilliance that I didn't know existed. So in explaining the name, lets start with subito. Subito is a musical term, mostly, for "suddenly". This being everytime something changes in my life, it happens very quickly. For example, upon deciding on a career in the arts, I have already sung in Carnegie Hall and marched in the Tournament of Roses Parade. Screw waiting around to achieve your dreams. At the tender age of eighteen, I've already lived some of mine! Thus, the subito. As for dolce, I'm pretty peaceful and kind to my friends and family...well, mostly. More so, it's in there for the warm feeling I get when I hear it. The word reminds me of lazy afternoons spent holding hands with someone I loved, sipping Cinnamon Dolce lattes between the soft, breathy kisses of a newfound love. Or maybe it's in the way it reminds me of the trip I long to take to Italy, once I have subtly conqured the language. That is the word I think of when I invision Italia's magnifigance. Perhaps it is in the beauty of a flute melody with the word dolce insribed below it, infusing the music with a treacly, luscious joy. Bet you didn't think I could add so much depth into some random word you thought was only to describe coffee, huh? And finally, the most modern and english of all the namesake: diva. Well, now isn't that one obvious? A young woman with starlet dreams and fantasies of eating dinner with Lea Michele and Idina Menzel? Totally diva material. But diva doesn't nessecarily mean overconfident. If anything, my confidence usually falls short. I hate to listen to recordings of myself, videos of my performances or even read something I've written. Even this self-indulgent biography makes me a tad bit ill. But diva can mean having strength to believe that one day you can change the world with what you know and the talents you posses. Along with this, I also believe in the power music has to connect us, to pentrate as deeply as human nature. And how a written vow can be just as strong as a spoken one. So that being said, I hope you enjoy the fic I write and that we can be friends. I'd think I'd rather like being friends with you, dear reader. |
